- Faja dos Padres - A small farm community on the South West of Madeira famous for it´s cable car ride. Great spot for a summer lunch.
- Balcoes de Ribeiro Frio - One of Madeira´s most beautiful viewpoints at the end of a short levada walk.
- Miradouro Pico Dos Barcelos - One of the best viewpoints of Funchal offering a panoramic view of all the city.

Viewpoint day was a great day. - After multiple visits to Madeira we wanted to go where we had not yet been. On our list where quite some viewpoints some known some less known. Hugo from Hit-the-road-Madeira made our day by guiding (and driving) us to al the places and we just had a great time. Finishing of with a great poncha and some home brewed shots was a nice touch. We loved Hit-the-road-Madeira once again.

Yet another excellent tour - Every time we visit Madeira we book a private tour with Hugo as our guide/driver as his knowledge of the island is excellent (as you’d expect from a local). Not only does he always manage to take us to places we’ve not been to before he also manages to avoid the crowds, something that is becoming increasingly difficult. We’re back in October and will definitely be booking again.

Fantastic 4x4 east tour day. - Fantastic tour around the East and North coast. Our guide, Nuno was lovely and extremely knowledgable. He really looked after us for the day. We saw everything we’d asked to see and more! Don’t hesitate to book with these guys. Thanks Nuno.

Fabulous full day tour - Fabulous day spent with Hugo exploring the west of the island. He was absolutely amazing with his knowledge of the island, the roads, the hidden trails.
He was patient and went the extra mile to make our day extra special.

4x4xfab views - We went on a whole day private tour. The weather and thus visibility was mixed, but made for some atmospheric mountain and cliff views. The joy of touring in a 4x4 is how close to those views you get, and sometimes the exciting routes to catch them. Our driver Nuno gave a lively and informed commentary all the way. Highly recommended.

Fabulous day in Madeira - Nuno, our driver and guide, gave us a wonderful tour of Madeira...Despite the limited time we had on shore we got a great feel for the island, had a delicious lunch and winery tour at Barbusano. Nuno was able to squeeze in a quick stop to drink poncha and then another stop at porto moniz. All in all a fabulous day of sightseeing and discovery. Highly recommend this company

You’ll discover so much more on a tour!! - My iPhone storage is now totally overloaded! We had a wonderful tour, blessed with fantastic weather, viewing primarily the northern coast which is drop dead gorgeous…lush greenery and vegetation, cliff and sea views at every bend, and a great lunch spot by the sea. The route Hugo took us on via Serra de Agua went through a beautiful valley and climbed over the mountains as we dropped towards Sao Vicente. Not a soul in sight till that point and stunning mountain scenery. We had started the day with a drive to a viewpoint looking along the south coast from on high. A magical way to start a magical day. Madeira is a land of such contrasts - it really packs a punch with so much variety. Each time we come, we explore different areas. This week has almost felt like five holidays in one! I can thoroughly recommend Hit The Road for the insight they give into this beautiful island and they really find the best places to take you to, many of which we would never have discovered in a hire car! Our whole Madeiran experience was enhanced by the touring we did. 10/10 oh yes and the final stop for poncha was yum!

This is a MUST do tour. - It felt like we were taking a tour with our best friend. The yellow flowers covering the hillside were incredible. We were went down some amazing back roads giving us a real feel of the island. Introduced to porche, great rum and then Madeira wine. We met some wonderful people, just by chance 2 that were from our hometown. By chance they were also doing a private tour and we ran into each other throughout the day, then had lunch together. Super fun, I highly recommend this company and tour.

Highly recommended! - OMG! This day with Fabio was absolutely amazing. Although we've visited Madeira many times before, Fabio offered us a unique, local perspective. We discovered hidden gems, enjoyed local pubs, indulged in delicious food, and shared plenty of laughter. Fabio was an excellent guide, providing exceptional service throughout our experience!
