(Tuesday to Sunday) - Following a hotel pick-up at approximately 5:30 AM, guests are transported to Pico do Arieiro to witness the sunrise around 7 AM. This location is the island’s highest viewpoint, standing at 1,818 meters above sea level. Enjoy the sunrise with a hot cup of coffee or tea, a unique offering exclusive to our clients, as no other coffee shops are open at this time. A selection of coffee varieties is available, with sugar and milk provided, along with three types of tea. All of these refreshments are included in our package price (Tuesday to Sunday).
Guests can also savor toasted ham and cheese sandwiches and homemade cake, freshly prepared by our catering team, ensuring no one goes hungry.
Afterward, we return to the Camacha area for a delightful levada walk in the Paradise Valley, available from Tuesday to Saturday, which takes approximately 40 minutes to complete.
If weather or visibility conditions are unfavorable for viewing the sunrise at Pico do Arieiro, an alternative location will be selected.
- Pickups in Calheta : 80 Euros for pickup and drop-off per booking (1-8 people)/ 50 Euros for pickup in Calheta and drop-off in Funchal
- Pickups in Ponta do Sol : 50 Euros for pickup and drop-off per booking (1-8 people)/ 35 Euros for pickup in Ponta do Sol and drop-off in Funchal
- Pickups in Ribeira Brava :40 Euros for pickup and drop-off per booking (1-8 people)/ 30 Euros for pickup in Ribeira Brava and drop-off in Funchal
- This tour will take place rain or shine If the weather/visibility conditions are not good enough to see the sunrise in Pico do Arieiro, the sunrise spot will change to the Santo da Serra Golf court or the Skywalk Viewpoint of Guindaste in Santana or the tip of the island Ponta de São Lourenço

Beautiful sunrise and lovely picnic breakfast - The view is just as beautiful as pictured. Our guide drove us to the top. Be advised the path is a bit rocky so wear good shoes. Add on the breakfast and walk to make it a complete tour. Had a lovely picnic breakfast after in a small cabin on the way down the mountain. The Levada walk was quite easy and nice to get out and experience the countryside. Would recommend just connecting with the company ahead of time to see what the pickup time is, as it likely shifts with the seasons. Communication with them was good. :)

Sunrise! - This was such a great way to see Madeira. We were extremely happy with our tour guide and his knowledge of the island that was shared along the ride. Also they were able to pick us up from our resort, which was extremely helpful with some of the windy roads. My Husband and I ended up doing this trip on a Sunday. Unfortunately the weather made it a bit dangerous to go to the very top of Pico do Arieiro. The tour guides made sure everyone had the best experience and were safe! We were very pleased to see the sunrise at the local golf course. The breakfast was delightful and the market was just opening up when we arrived!

Nice experience - Very nice experience. The driver arrived on time and was very helpful. The light snacks breakfast is a really nice touch.
Please dress warm ( a winter coat) as it gets really cold up there in the mountains.

Madiera Sunrise Tour - We went with Jorge who was amazing! He took us to where the best view was and gave us great instructions on when and where he’d meet us. Jorge provided a good breakfast coffee and tea after the sunrise and then took us to Paradise Valley for a beautiful walk. I recommend this 100%.

Pico sunrise tour including breakfast and Paradise Valley walk. - It was a great experience. George, our guide and driver was very friendly,kind, humorous and very knowledgeable. Besides being a good driver he was entertaining. We drove up to Pico and saw a spectacular sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast catered by George. Then we had a nice relaxing walk through Paradise valley (about 50 minutes) After 5 hours we were back at our hotel. I would highly recommend the tour and hopefully you will be lucky to have George as your guide.

Morning sunrise - We had an excellent driver who picked us up very early for the sunrise. It was a cold morning and he brought extra blankets for us. I would suggest wearing warm clothes as it is cold and windy early in the morning, and bringing a head lamp or flash light so you can see in the dark. It was very cloudy the day we want so we did not get a full sunrise as we had hopefuls but I enjoyed the surroundings and being with other people on the top of the mountain in such epic scenery. After sunrise we had breakfast, and enjoyed hot coffee and tea followed by a pretty stroll on a flat levada.

Great trip - Very punctual pick up early in the morning and friendly guide. We picked more guests up on the way & got driven to Pico do Arieiro ready for the sunset & given blankets to take with us whist we were watching the sun rise - it was absolutely freezing due to the wind (10 degrees colder than at sea level) so these helped a lot! The sunrise & view was beautiful. After the sunset we headed back to the minibus & went to a rustic barn for breakfast - we had informed them before they trip that we are vegan & were provided a great vegan breakfast - vegan cheese toasties, chocolate vegan cake & cereal bars, and plenty of hot coffee to warm up!! It was great to see how well they catered for us and the host was very attentive.
We were then taken to another location and shown where to walk which was an easy, flat levada walk. Our host met us at the end of the walk with the minibus and then drove us back to our pick up point. The only thing that would have improved the trip was having a hot cup of coffee whilst watching the sunrise to help keep us warm.

Good trip, a bit expensive - It was quite nice. The guides were too kind but to be fair, it was a bit expensive for what you get. If you have a rental car this trip may not be for you. Otherwise we look back on a very impressive sunrise and a fun morning.

Nice but too expensive - Our driver and guide were very nice but unfortunately the weather conditions weren’t great so we were brought to a lower spot to view the sunrise (not the tour’s fault). The view was nice but definitely not what we were expecting based on what we saw online, again, not the tour’s fault but just a warning that the weather may not be great. The walk was nice but as other reviews mentioned, it’s not a guide, they just drop you off and tell you where to walk which is fine. The breakfast was nice and the guide was super friendly. The description is a bit misleading, you don’t enjoy the sunrise while drinking coffee, the coffee and breakfast come after the sunrise as you drive elsewhere to eat. Overall great but definitely way too expensive for what you get.

First time in Madeira & 1st tour booked was a disappointment. - We thought we would be in a group but found out only at pick up time that it was only the two of us! Then the guide appeared to be least bothered & behaved like more of a driver than a guide, who failed to show us things in detail as we would have expected from a tour guide. He sat in the van because he said he was cold & did not want to show us up to the sunrise viewpoint. It was like this with whatever else we did. The breakfast was average for the price we paid. The place at which we ate was a shack, not clean or warm. He just appeared like he was doing this job for the heck of it. Even at dropping time, at the end, he didn't bother saying goodbye or anything, just dropped & left. We could have easily done this tour by hiring a taxi & doing it ourselves without going through Viator. If anything, a refund from Viator would suffice at this time!
