Fabulous tour - It was raining on the day of our tour but Devin didn’t let it dampen our experience. He was so friendly and knowledgeable and did his best to keep us comfortable despite the weather. He knew the history of the town, buildings, and businesses. The tasting were amazing! When they tell you not to eat before your tour, they really mean it. There was so much delicious food! I would love to try the other tour too!

Fun food experience in unique settings! - Right off the bat, this company was accommodating and communicative. I had meant to make reservations on my lunch hour and was too busy, so I didn't get around to it until after school, at which time the reservations had closed. I texted the number, and not only did they get back to me right away, they graciously opened reservations back up to accommodate our small group! The email directions were clear to follow and provided ample instructions about what to expect, what to wear, where to meet, and other relevant information for touring. In addition, the tour guide, Marissa, was an absolute BLAST for our small group. She worked hard to get to know us and encourage us to enjoy each experience. She was a great communicator and so much fun! The tour itself was well worth the money, as the highlights, for me, were trying foods and drinks that I would not have otherwise experienced in Galena. They highlighted some incredible treats and small businesses that I probably would not have stopped in. From the AMAZING empanada to the delicious Thai donuts and everything in between, this tour was well-paced, full of amazing treats, and while I left full, I didn't leave feeling miserable. I was especially impressed by the N/A options for one member of our party who does not drink, which means this would be a fun experience for a variety of ages! I can't wait to do this again with my husband (and kids)! I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Best Tour Ever - This was one of the best tours that I have ever been on. Devin was great! His knowledge of Galena, history and statistics, was awesome. The places were very accommodating, and the food and drink were magnificent. I would definitely take the tour again. Thanks for the great adventure!

Savory foods and refreshing beverages - We started out at the Galena Bakehouse and had an outstanding empanada. Our next stop was the Root Beer Revelry, and the floats were so refreshing on a warm day. We also visited the Galena wine cellar, Galena brewery, and Tap House. All of the food was delicious! The cheese curds at the winery were amazing. Devin, our tour guide, kept us informed of the history of Galena, as well as the restaurants we visited.

Such wonderful memories made in Galena, Illinois, Mother’s Day Weekend, 2024 - 13 members of Vanilla Pura on FB decided to get together in Galena because one of our members was flying over from the UK to visit us. We were all from different parts of the US and a couple of them had been to Galena in the past. Most of us drove. 3 of us drove from TN. Others came from IN, UT, IA, KS, MO, MI, CO, IL, and NE. Everyone picked their own place to stay and we had a conference room reserved for 2 days for ‘meet and greet’ and for when the owners of VanillaPura to fly to Chicago and then drive over on Sunday for a LIVE Vanilla Extract airing. It was fabulous. Saturday morning, we met at the coffee shop next to the Trolley Stop so we could all get a trolley tour and then we walked around town and checked out more homes and the Baum Bros. Distillery. We ran out of time and had to leave after two days there. The countryside is beautiful and I wish we could have stayed longer, but it was so wonderful to finally meet all of these wonderful women that we have communicated with for four years and felt like we knew and know we do. They are all just as wonderful as I expected. Long drive, but a wonderful place to be.

Beautiful tour, amazing local food and drink - What a beautiful tour! Devin, our tour guide, was who set this tour above the rest! Devin knew intricate details about each business we visited, the food and beverages we enjoyed, and was very friendly and helpful. This is a tour where you will get to walk downtown Galena and try various foods and beverages from locally owned businesses that showcase the diversity Galena has to offer. Highly recommend!

Worth the price! - This tour was a bit costly to book but when you see everything you get to eat and drink then you realize why. Do not eat before you take this tour! You eat or drink or both at every stop. The empanada at the bakery which is the first stop was amazing. All the stops had something good to offer. If you like to try different foods and like wine and beer, I recommend this tour. Our guide, Devin, was very accommodating and knowledgeable.

Wonderful Food & Drink Tour - Devin was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the food and drink we sampled on the tour. We had empanadas, flat breads with meat, a 1 pound pretzel, and bao buns. Manywine, beer, and mixed drinks were offered with the food. Come hungry!
