Efficient, reliable transfer service - I spent ages trying to find a transfer between Rio and Ilha Grande, as so many had mixed reviews. Top Transfer provided a very efficient service. We received communication the evening before pick up to confirm what time the driver would arrive. In the morning, they confirmed the driver was in his way and he arrived on time. We were driven to a Dock that was super quiet, it was only our minibus and one other there to get the boat, so it was all quick and efficient. The way back was also on time and we'll organised. My only tip is to check the price quoted. I had seen another tour company selling the transfer, with the price advertised on their website. I saw it was operated by Top Transfer, so I decided to contact them directly. They originally quoted a higher price than I had seen elsewhere. Once I queried it, the price was reduced. So do your research!

Safe and comfortable - Sure. The friendly driver, mentioned to us some areas where we move, keep in touch via WhatsApp to inform the location of the mobile. Consider that being shared may vary the travel time. I'd use it again

Delays but good communication - It’s a shame that we were faced with a delay compared to the announced departures. However, the deadlines were communicated by Whatsapp which allowed us to organize ourselves. Thanks to Renata from the office in Vila do Abraâo for her kindness and responsiveness. The driver was also very friendly, good driving.

Top transfer - long waiting time - 2 hours is too long a time window for transport. The start of the pickup window was announced, then pushed to the end. Then we waited another 1.5 hours on top of that. Communication was good beforehand, but after the waiting time it was bad and no longer reliable. No chance of getting the fare refunded or switching to other providers. There are plenty of these at the airport, we saw them come and go. As a tip, it's better to take Uber if you're traveling with two or more people. It saves time, especially at the boring airport.

Really bad experience - Do NOT book with this company. We booked a trip from Rio to Ilha Grande. Departure at 12h. Few weeks after booking the trip was postponed by the company with 45min. At moment of arrival in the airport in Rio (pick-up location), we got a text estimating pick-up time at 2pm (which was still acceptable for us, as in the voucher a time window was given). However at 2pm, we got a text the driver would be 'a few minutes' later... After another 30min, we asked where the driver was. Then we got a text the driver would be late for another 50min! We waited patiently. But only at 4.20pm the driver came: more than 4h after the initial booked pick-up moment. Afterwards, we still had to pick-up other people and drove around in Rio for another 1.5h! So we left Rio at little before 6pm... When finally arriving in the harbour close to Ilha Grande, where normally a ferry would be: it was already 8.30pm, completely dark and abandond. (Last ferry leaves at 6.30pm.) We were passed on to a 'middle man'. During this whole time, we had little or no information as the driver and middle man could not speak English. Also the company dit not give much information. Just the text: 'We were informed that the ship has already embarked. Thank you for your patience and have a good trip.' Seriously? Finally, al little before 9pm, we were put on a small speedboat, without life vests in stormy weather, and driven by a teenager, to go to Ilha Grande with the rest of the people of our van. Really scared and not save. Thank God we made it to Ilha Grande alive.

If you want confidence better choose another agency - We boarded at 10 am from Abraão at the airport to go to Buzios, we were 3 hrs and 30 minutes waiting for the transfer to dizios, No compensation, nothing. The answer they gave us was that they couldn't do anything and we had to wait.

12 hours to reach destination - The telephone service was very good. Now, they picked us up at 6.30 AM in ARRAIAL DO CABO and we arrived at ILHA GRANDE at 18.00 PM. ALMOST TWELVE HOURS!!! We had a transfer of 5 hours waiting in Rio (09:00 to 14:00) and then 1 more hour in Conceição do Jacarei (16:20 to 17:30) until the boat arrived. I hired to arrive quickly, efficiently and without so many turns and it was the worst choice.
