Koggala Lake - Located near Koggala in Sri Lanka, Koggala Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in the area. This freshwater lagoon sits 9.8 feet (3 meters) above sea level near the south coast. The lake is teeming with birdlife and dotted with numerous small islands, bordered by jungle and forest. Notable islands include Temple Island, Cinnamon Island, and Spice Garden. Enjoy a 2-hour boat ride on the lake, stopping at a few islands to learn about cinnamon production, explore spice gardens, and visit an old temple with ancient wall paintings.

We had a great ride on the Koggala Lake - We had a really nice boat ride on the lake, watched the making of cinnamon and visited a Buddhist Temple on an Island. Our guide was very nice and helped us with everything.

Excellent day on the lake. - We were taken to the lake where a boatman met us and took us for a boat tour on the lake. He was very knowledgeable and showed us things that we would never had spotted. It was such an enjoyable day. We saw a herb garden, cinnamon being made, drank some fresh coconut milk and the scenery was amazing. We were then taken back to our hotel. What an amazing day. This was the 3rd time we had used BTR SL and will always use them again. What a great day!

Koggala Lake - serene and beautiful. - Great experience and warm service. The lake is beautiful and our lake guide, Ganesh really took time to ensure that we saw everything there was to see.
