Throughout our excursion, we will devote considerable attention to the unique bird species native to Sri Lanka. Currently, researchers have cataloged approximately 33 indigenous bird species within the Sri Lankan rainforests. Our journey entails a birdwatching adventure within the Sinharaja Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage site and Sri Lanka’s most expansive rainforest teeming with diverse life forms. The entry point for our avian observation will be the Sinharaja Kurulu Gala entrance along Deniyaya’s access route. The region we will explore is situated roughly 3,000 feet above sea level, providing an exceptional vantage point for photographing these special birds. While focusing on Sri Lanka’s native avian life, visitors will also have the opportunity to observe a plethora of other bird varieties, including the striking Sri Lankan Blue Magpie. Additionally, guests might encounter mixed-species feeding groups and have a chance to see the elusive Red-faced Malkoha.
