Cruise Passsengers with Kids in Colombo! - Our guide Shaminda was great - he greeted us on time and a very warm welcome with flower garlands. It was a comfortable vehicle for myself and my two children. The trip to Galle is super long so best to pick and choose the attractions that you need to see. We enjoyed the turtle conservation centre as it included some black tipped reef sharks as well which was a pleasant surprise. We were able to return and swing past the Red Mosque as we missed it on our first day (open for visitors till 5:30pm) so that was a treat. Although be warned, Pettah Street where the Red Mosque is located is SUPER BUSY with one-way traffic. Overall, a great tour for our last day in Colombo!

A great sampler of SrinLanka - A great taster of Sri Lanka. A little rushed when you only have one day on a cruise but Vidu, our driver tried to show us as much as possible in the time we had. He was very accommodating and helped us out with a few things we needed to take care of and gave us many reasons to come back with more time!

Over and above - We had the most amazing day out on this tour. The river tour was a particular highlight but our driver made the day fun and easy, and we enjoyed all of the stops. Would highly recommend.

Great trip and driver. - Gayan was an amazing driver and guide. He shared lots of information with us about Sri Lanka but also gave us space to do our own thing. He was punctual and always courteous. The trip was great. We saw a lot of southern Sri Lanka. Would recommend this trip and Gayan to anyone wanting a great experience.

Worth it if you manage your time - We booked this as a shore excursion, on the second day of an overnight in Colombo. Our guide was friendly, knew a lot of information, and we had interesting stops. I can’t give it five stars because several times I mentioned we needed to keep an eye on time to get back to the port, but he assured us that we were OK. By early afternoon I worked with him to map out duration of travel and time needed at the next sites, but he underestimated significantly how long it took to get to Galle (the whole point of this tour). Needless to say, we didn’t make it to the location of the stilt fishermen (also an important stop) and didn’t make it to the ship by the All Aboard time. The tour itself is a good one if you want to get out of Colombo and see southern Sri Lanka. Also highly recommend the turtle sanctuary/conservation project!

Select carefully the stops - Basically a nice trip, but avoid spending additional money to the Ahungalla Sea Life Center, which brings you a terrible animal experience and not worth the entrance fee. The lake boat trip is neither worth the high cost. Add the Community Tsunami Education Center & Museum in Hikkaduwa. Galle Fort is nice!
