This semi-day safari offers the unique opportunity to visit Udawalawe National Park, recognized as one of Sri Lanka’s premier locations for witnessing wild elephants. The park is home to a steady population of over 250 Asian elephants. Udawalawe is able to accommodate this robust herd due to its plentiful water supply. The park serves as a popular migration site for elephants from adjacent protected locations every year. It was originally established as a safe haven for elephants displaced by the creation of the nearby Udawalawe reservoir. In addition to its notable elephant population, Udawalawe is a significant area for birds, showcasing a diverse spectrum of aquatic, raptor, and terrestrial species.
