Best way to see the cliffs and experience a small Irish island - The tour guide was GREAT! and seeing the cliffs from the ocean and the top was wonderful! It was chilly on the boat, so make sure to bring extra warm clothes for the ferry ride.
If you can, grab a seat on the right (starboard) side of the boat when leaving the island because they get close to the cliffs on that side.
Seeing such a small island and getting to talk to the locals was a nice. Make sure to bring some money to pay for the tour you choose to take (bike, horse, or small bus) and to purchase the locally-made sweaters :-)
I loved the whole day we had.

Perfect Tour on a perfect October Day with Mr. 'Good Shtuuff' = Dave. - The entire tour was very well orchestrated. David "Good Shhhtuff" the driver was very entertaining throughout the trip. The Boat ride out to the island and looking at the Cliffs from the sea on a beautiful day, then we chose the mini van to tool us around the small island (other options were E bikes, reg bikes or horse and carriage ride), small tour shop and a pub (with excellent cappuccino). Also ate at a local pub (very well managed to deal with bus tours - and a beautiful rainbow appeared at the end of lunch when we headed to the bus. Then up to the Cliffs of Moher by bus and a walkabout to the sights and shops.

Perfect Ireland discovery trip! - What an absolutely perfect way to spend my birthday! My tour guide was Dave and he was such a perfect guide and brought great energy to the trip. The drive to Doolin was beautiful and educational as Dave would add information and comments throughout, making it pass by quicker. The cruise was refreshing and gorgeous especially when sitting on the outside deck, we even got to see some dolphins in the water! On the islands we got around with EBikes which was such a good idea as it can be hilly in areas and tough to bike up, and made it easy to get around and see everything including animals, famous landmarks, and the sweater shop. The cruise under the Cliffs was particularly chilly as it was October so be mindful of the weather, but nonetheless still break taking. I didn’t read the description correctly and didn’t know you stop at the Cliffs and have time to climb up, but it was nice getting another chance to explore. Huge props to Dave again for playing engaging music, having conversation with everyone, and making the overall trip worth it. Definitely recommend!

Dave is the GOAT - Dave was an AMAZING guide and driver. His commentary and personality really made this trip memorable! We loved visiting Inisheer and sailing by the cliffs; and loved his mention of one of our favorite shows Father Ted - especially since we weren’t aware the island we visited was part of the show. Also learning that JRR Tolkien was inspired by the countryside near Doolin added so much to our time. In short, Dave’s the best!!!

Fantastic way to spend an entire day to visit the cliffs of Moher and Aran Islands - We enjoyed an entire day trip with Dave, our driver and tour guide. We were picked up at our B&B, and then along with passengers from Galway drove to the ferry near Doolen. The ferry took us over to the Aran islands for a tour. We stayed on the ferry to view the Cliffs of Moher from the water, which are spectacular. From there, the bus took us to the top of the Cliffs for another view, for a bite to eat in Doolen and then back to Galway. The tour ends in Galway, so you have to make it back to your B&B if it’s not in the center of the city, but everything is walking distance. All in all, wonderful day with our tour guide Dave. Highly recommend.!!

Amazing Experience - Worth Every Penny! - My wife and I went on the Cliffs of Moher/Aran Islands Tour and we absolutely loved it! From start to finish, it was worth every penny. We had Tommy as our driver and he was amazing! From history of Galway & Ireland as a whole, to the many funny jokes, you could tell Tommy really enjoys his job and taking care of everyone. I highly recommend requesting him as your driver if possible. The breakdown of our day was:
9am: departed Kinlay Hostel
10:45am: arrived at Doolin Ferry company
11:00am: on ferry headed to Inisheer
11:20am: arrived at Inisheer
11:30am: took off on hired mini bus (more of a van) tour that Tommy suggested of the main sights to see on Inisheer (shipwreck, a very old church, lighthouse from a distance, and the O’Brien’s castle ruins). We HIGHLY recommend the bus tour. It was €15 per person and totally worth it. The tour was ~hour long, leaving us a little over an hour when we got back for time on our own before getting back on the ferry at 1:30pm. Initially, we were planning to hire a bike, but in hindsight we’re glad we didn’t as we wouldn’t have had enough time to see what we were able to see on the mini bus tour, nor would we have had time to shop/grab a pint. Even if you hired an electric bike (much more expensive at €40 per person), we still don’t think we could’ve experienced everything we did in the 2 hours we were on Inisheer.
12:30pm: arrive back at dock area from mini bus tour
12:30-1:30pm: shopped and grabbed a pint. There really was only one shop open, the Aran Sweater House, as it was the last week of tourism season + a bank holiday. Grabbed a pint and chips at Inisheer Hotel right behind the shop.
1:30pm: meet to get back on the ferry
~2:00pm: arrived back at Doolin ferry dock. IMPORTANT: Stay on the ferry for the Cliffs of Moher cruise that starts AFTER letting people off at the dock. My only negative of our entire day was that this wasn’t clearly explained to us before getting on the ferry so we had already got off and then had to wait to get back on. Luckily, we were able to get seats up top close to where we were sitting prior but it was still frustrating. I had read beforehand to sit on the right side of the ferry if you’re looking at the front (bow), but our ferry operator did somewhat of a loop one close to the Cliffs of Moher so really people on both sides of the ferry were able to see the Cliffs. That said, if you’re sitting up top, be prepared that people will be standing the entire time up against the railing essentially blocking any decent picture opportunities from your seat. I, in turn, had to attempt to stand at my seat to grab some pictures over the top of people standing at the sides. The water was fairly choppy, so keep that in mind when standing.
3:00pm: arrive back at the ferry dock to get back on the bus to head to lunch in Doolin.
3:20pm ish: arrived at McGann’s Pub where we had lunch and a pint. My wife had the stew (amazing and definitely recommend) and I got the fish and chips. We had fish and chips the night prior in Galway at The Front Door which we thought were better (fish and chips both more crispy and flavorful), but the fish here is fresh and still tasty. Much better than anything back in the States. McGann’s Pub runs a smooth operation and we were able to order food and drinks, eat, and use the restrooms all in less than 45 min. There were 2 other bus loads of people on tours there as well and the staff at McGann’s didn’t miss a beat. We were very impressed!
4:00pm: back on bus to Cliffs of Moher
4:30pm ish: arrive at Cliffs of Moher for an hour or so (absolutely breathtaking as the sun began to set later in the day). The Cliffs are truly awe inspiring to see in person and no picture taken can serve them justice!
4:30-5:30pm: explore Cliffs & visitor center/gift shop.
5:45pm: back on bus to Galway via Wild Atlantic Way.
7:15pm ish: arrive back at Kinlay Hostel in Galway
If you made it this far, thanks for reading and I apologize for the lengthy review. It’s just that in my prior research and ultimately deciding on this Cliffs of Moher tour, I didn’t see any review with a breakdown of the day so I hope you find this useful. All in all, my wife and I had an amazing day and truly enjoyed our time with Tommy and the Galway Tour Company. 5 stars and highly recommended. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Do this tour - Such a fantastic day! Dave was the best and most entertaining tour guide ever. The natural beauty makes this tour a winner, but Dave took it up a few notches. 10/10 recommend!
