Enjoyable and money well-spent - This excursion actually included 3 excursions-Gatun Lake with a trip to Monkey Island, the Sloth Sanctuary as well as the Frog, Butterfly and Orchid Sanctuary, and finally the tram ride through the rainforest. Our guide, Miguel, was bursting with facts about Panama’s flora and fauna, animals, and history. He stopped at least three times pointing out animals as well as the various locks and property surrounding the Canal. We learned a great deal about the former presence of the US as well as the astounding work of the Panamanians who increased the Canal locks and precisely navigate ships in the Canal. It was a fabulous day!
