Embark on a trek from Hemjakot to the renowned Gurung settlement of Dhampus, noted for its jaw-dropping vistas. Experience the Himalayas without having to undertake an arduous climb. The brief journey from Hemjakot to Dhampus, descending from 1500 meters at Hemjakot to 1170 meters at Dhampus, generally takes about sixty minutes.

As you walk, you come across a quaint community woodland, fantastic mountain panoramas and the local rural living on your way. The ideal time to embark on this hike is just after a meal at your home-stay in Hemjakot, or one can carry a packed lunch to have en route.

A vantage point at the tiny Gurung hamlet of Dhampus provides splendid sightings of the Annapurna Himalaya, unlike the ones seen from Hemjakot. If you’ve enough time and stamina, this modest ascent serves as an excellent preamble for more extended treks in the surroundings. For those short of time, it also doubles up as a worthwhile self-contained outing.
