Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir Excursion.
Tsomgo Lake - Start your morning with a half-day trip to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), located just 32 kms from Gangtok city. Depart from the hotel around 8-10 am, depending on permit availability, which will be communicated by the driver. The lake is approximately 1 km long and 15 meters deep and is considered sacred by the locals.

Pemayangtse Monastery - The Pemayangtse Monastery is a Buddhist monastery in Pemayangtse, near Pelling in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim. Planned, designed, and founded by Lama Lhatsun Chempo in 1647, it is one of the oldest and most renowned monasteries in Sikkim. Initially started as a small Lhakhang, it was later expanded during the reign of the third Chogyal Chakdor Namgyal and Khenchen Rolpai Dorjee in 1705 and consecrated by the third Lhatsun Chenpo Dzogchen Jigme Pawo in 1710 C.E. The monastery follows the Nyingma Order of Tibetan Buddhism and oversees all other monasteries of that Order in Sikkim. The monks of this monastery are typically chosen from the Bhutias of Sikkim. The monastery was built for “pure monks” (ta-tshang), meaning “monks of pure lineage,” celibate and without any physical abnormalities. This practice is still maintained. Only the monks of Pemayangtse Monastery are entitled to the title “ta-tshang”.
Rabdentse Ruins - Rabdentse Palace Ruins - Rabdentse was the second capital of the former Kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814. The capital city was destroyed by the invading Gurkha army, and now only the ruins of the palace and the chortens remain. However, the ruins are located close to Pelling in the West Sikkim district of present-day Sikkim. Pemayangtse Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim, is also nearby.
PELLING TO DARJEELING (72 kms 3 hrs approx)
Darjeeling - After breakfast, you will be transferred from Pelling to Darjeeling. Along the way, you will be accompanied by the enchanting beauty of the Himalayas and stunning valley views. Don’t forget to capture pictures of the magnificent snow-covered peaks and green hills. Upon reaching Darjeeling, check into your hotel and enjoy the evening at your leisure. You can explore the delightful Mall Road in Darjeeling.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute - Established in Darjeeling, India, on 4 November 1954, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute aims to encourage mountaineering as an organized sport in India.
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park - This 67.56-acre zoo in Darjeeling, West Bengal, was opened in 1958. At an average elevation of 7,000 feet, it is the largest high-altitude zoo in India. (closed on Thursday)
Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center - Established on 2 October 1959, the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Centre in Darjeeling, India, is a rehabilitation center for Tibetan refugees in the Darjeeling Himalayan hill region. The production of Tibetan handicrafts is the center’s main activity. (closed on Sunday)
