Highlights
  • Charent’s Arch - A short distance from Yerevan, close to the village of Vokhchaberd, stands an arch that may seem ordinary at first glance. However, once you ascend the steps and position yourself beneath it, you’re greeted with a stunning panorama of Mount Ararat. This is the Charents Arch, designed by the renowned architect Rafael Israelian. The arch pays homage to the esteemed Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents, who often wandered these areas to gaze upon the magnificent Mount Ararat. It’s a popular spot for all sorts of visitors, as it’s nearly impossible to resist capturing a few snapshots with the mountain in the background.
  • The Monastery of Geghard - The journey continues to the Geghard Monastery, a site recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Since the Middle Ages, it has been a significant destination for pilgrims. The monastery’s name, “Geghardavank,” originates from the Armenian term “geghard,” meaning “lance.” It refers to the very lance that pierced Jesus during the Crucifixion, which is currently housed in the Etchmiadin Cathedral museum.
  • Garni Temple - We invite you to an enchanting trip from Yerevan to the Garni Temple, the sole remaining heathen temple in both Armenia and the Caucasus. Constructed in the 1st century A.D., the temple complex includes a 3rd century Roman bathhouse, remnants of a 7th century Apostolic Armenian Church, the ruins of a pre-Christian Summer Palace, the Founding Stone with a Greek inscription, and an Urartian cuneiform inscription honoring an Urartian king from the 8th century B.C.
