An extraordinary journey - An exceptional trip to Armenia thanks to Anush and Hovig!
We have just returned from an unforgettable trip to Armenia, guided by the formidable Anush and accompanied by our driver Hovig.
From day one, Anush captivated us with his fascinating explanations and his deep knowledge of the history and culture of Armenia. We already loved this country but we come out with even more feelings.
As for Hovig, he transported us with incredible kindness through the beautiful roads and breathtaking landscapes. In addition to being a good driver, he is a good picker and has found us the best watermelons, peaches, apples, plums, nuts....
Among the highlights of our stay: the superb city of Goris, the visit (and tasting) of the wine factory of Areni, the majestic monastery of Noravank must-see place of a trip to Armenia. The peaceful church of Sissian as well.
We were enchanted by Shaki’s waterfalls and cool curtain, impressed by Tatev’s cable car, and amazed by Jermuk’s springs and waterfall.
The monastery of Khor Virap with its breathtaking views of Mount Ararat (in good weather), the impressive Garni Gorge and the Roman temple of Garni also left a deep impression on us. We had the chance to see a duduk (traditional musical instrument) player ring the walls of the temple. This chance followed us to Geghard Monastery where we heard a drunken group of singers in the monastery. An experience impossible to describe, it is to live.
Each monastery is different, each mountain is different. We spent 15 days being amazed on a daily basis.
We ended this journey in the heights of Amberd Fortress, admired the serenity of Lake Kari (located at an altitude of more than 3,100m), and plunged into the spirituality of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the majestic ruins of Zvartnots. Each site has been enriched by the details of Anush and the precision of its narrative. Always an anecdote, a legend, a story. We never get tired of it.
Thank you again for giving us time to dive into the mythical Lake Sevan. We couldn’t get here without soaking in this natural lake at an altitude of 1,900m.
For the cultural and nature part, we feasted. Our stomachs were treated well too. The restaurants chosen perfectly matched our expectations. It is true that Armenia and its hospitality is not the best place to start a diet. It is a cuisine rich in tastes, fresh herbs, natural foods. What better way than to enjoy lavash (traditional Armenian bread) made and taken out of the oven in front of our eyes, still very hot with a slight smell of embers, to which we add cheese and herbs. Obviously it doesn’t stop there, then it’s the unmissable kholovadz (grills) with grilled potatoes, dolmas (vine leaves), salads full of colors and tastes. Still not finished, the meals are followed by fruit, good coffee (watch the bottom of the cup), cakes and... (very) often, a glass of cognac or vodka.
Thank you, Anush and Hovig, for your warmth, attention, and this wonderful adventure in Armenia.
We leave with memories etched in our hearts thanks to you! And thanks to grider.
Thank you, Arminée for your responsiveness to my emails, whatsapp and your efficiency to always adapt.
Thanks to HYUR SERVICE for offering quality excursions, perfect organization and ease of communication in French.

Pleasant private no-guide trip - We booked without a guide, so we knew the limitations of the trip. Despite this, Marcus did a great job of driving us throughout this trip, so we had a pleasant private tour to these destinations. Nice coordination from the head office, too. Thanks for the wonderful service!

Amazing trip - This trip was amazing. 5 adults and a baby in a people carrier with a really patient and friendly driver. We chose to have no guide this time and did our homework on google before we went :)
We also stopped at the Arch of Charents on the way to the Garni temple which was spectacular.
We also went to the Symphony of Stones between the Garni temple and the monastry which was breath taking.
The driver was very patient because we spent longer than we should at the Stones and at the monastry so got back about 2 hours later thanwe should but he didn't mind.
These places were fabulous - lots of history, beautiful scenery and fantastic manmade and natural wonders.
