Autumn Colors at There Best - Four couples took the tour to enjoy the autumn colors in the Smokey Mountains. Our guide was Wes and he was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable about the Smokey Mountains and of Cherokee as well as area around the park for suggestions for additional places to visit. Wes found the best photography sites to capture pictures of elk and the mountain colors. Wes picked us up at our cabin in Gatlinburg and we then travelled to Cherokee, Clingmans Dome (now Kuwohi) and the tour closed with a picnic lunch at Chimneys Picnic Area. The van was very comfortable. All our friends thoroughly enjoyed the tour and gave it high recommendations.

Fantastic Day - What an amazing day! Wes was our guide and he was fabulous. We saw elk, bear, turkeys and numerous beautiful vistas on a bright sunny day. We were four couples who get together every year and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour and guide. We were never rushed and the tour, sites and activities were all about us. This is the tour company you want to choose for your adventures in the Great Smoky Mountains, and Wes is the man for the job!

Perfect Fall Adventure - We can’t say enough good things about our Over the Top Tour, whether you are visiting or new to the area, there is something for everyone on this guided adventure. Our guide Wes led an amazing tour that gave us a rich picture of the history and stories of the Gatlinburg, Clingmans Dome, and surrounding areas while helping us see the sites and wildlife that we would have never knew existed naturally in this area. Wes was personable and knowledgeable and was patient to answer any and all questions that we may have had. With fall foliage just starting to turn and the weather being temperate in late September our tour offered everything and more that we could have hoped to experience. We would wholeheartedly suggest Smoky Mountain Guides and Wes to take us on another adventure soon. It was a great day!!

Couldn’t have asked for a better trip - I spoke with Clayton a few a days before my trip to Gatlinburg for a few idea recommendations. He suggested because of the season, go see if we could see any Elk and then try our luck fly fishing. Both me and my wife fish, but never been fly fishing. Guide Wes texted me day before and provided us link needed for license and got our sizes for our waders. The trip and Wes was outstanding . We saw several Elks and the fly fishing was extremely fun. Wes was very knowledgeable about the area and his sense of humor was great. I would definitely recommend SMG for any adventure you want to plan with an experienced group.

Great info, beautiful sights, & awesome guide! - As a resident of the area for several years, our guide, Wes, was very knowledgeable. He could share with us the history of the Great Smokies from the period of the Cherokees to current times as well as tell us about the animals and plants. Absolutely a great way to see and learn about the park without worrying about driving and parking. Highly recommend!

Take this tour! - This was one of the best tours we’ve taken on vacations. Roomy van with large windows that provide excellent viewing and comfortable, easy access seats. Snacks and drinks were provided free of charge. There is a general itinerary that you can follow, but our Guide took the time to talk to us and find out our interests. He modified our route to suite our ideas. It’s a 5 hour tour and the time just flew by. Philip was our guide. He loves the mountains, the Park, the Cherokee and just life in general and it shows. He’s a great story teller and a willing photographer so everyone’s in the pictures. I think he specializes in “unique” ideas for photos. We loved the ones he took for us. This tour will be the highlight of your trip to Great Smoky Mountain National park! Take it!
