Highlights
  • 2 The Arches - After being equipped, a safety briefing and land-based training will be provided on the riverbank near Richmond Bridge. This usually takes 15-20 minutes, depending on the group size, and is included in the overall session time.
    We will then proceed onto the river, either upstream towards Eel Pie Island and Teddington or downstream towards Richmond Lock, Isleworth, Kew Gardens, and Chiswick, depending on the tide. We will return to our launch point at the end of the session.

Expect to be paddling on the water for 90-105 minutes The distance covered will depend on wind and tide conditions on the day.

Ideal for complete beginners, those looking to advance their skills, or seasoned paddlers aiming to perfect their technique. Enjoy a relaxed and supportive environment!

Who is this for?
Our sessions welcome paddlers of all skill levels, from novices to seasoned enthusiasts. We promise everyone will learn something new and leave with a smile—and perhaps a photo or two taken by our instructors! Children over 14 are welcome if accompanied on the water by a parent or legal guardian.

Where will I paddle?
You’ll explore the hidden islands at Richmond, paddle upstream past the historic Richmond Bridge towards Eel Pie Island and Teddington, all while taking in breathtaking views of the open countryside and Richmond Hill.

  • You do not need to be a proficient swimmer, but should be comfortable with falling into water while wearing a buoyancy aid.
  • A certain level of flexibility and ability to get up to standing from kneeling is required for learning to paddleboard.
