Highlights
  • Crane - The Crane stands as a prominent symbol of Gdansk, representing the remnants of the city’s illustrious trading era. Constructed in the mid-15th century as part of the largest double-towered gate along the shoreline, it was used for installing and removing ships’ masts, as well as loading and unloading heavy cargo from vessels at the quay. Remarkably, this human-powered mechanism could lift loads up to 2000kg, making it the most significant crane in medieval Europe.
  • SS Soldek - SS Sołdek was a Polish freighter designed for transporting coal and ore.
  • Gdansk Shipyard - The Gdansk Remontowa Shipyard remains a bustling, operational yard, offering a fascinating glimpse for those interested in observing ships of various sizes undergoing repair or construction. It’s particularly intriguing to paddle nearby and watch workers on the ferries.
  • Ołowianka B&B - Enjoy an amazing kayak tour along the Motlawa River, circling around Gdansk’s Granary Island and Olowianka Island. Gdansk’s unique location at the intersection of sea and river routes, including the Vistula River at the Baltic estuary, as well as the Radunia and Motlawa rivers, has greatly influenced the city’s development. Historical literature and drawings highlight water as a crucial element of the city’s life. Today, it’s essential to showcase Gdansk’s connection to water.
  • Motlawa River Embankment (Dlugie Pobrzeze) - A kayak tour offers a unique perspective on the historical significance of the Main City. Paddling through the canals provides the freedom to explore areas inaccessible to ferries, revealing a completely different side of Gdansk compared to what is seen on land.

Kayak Gdansk - Great tour with a great guide! Szymon did not get approval from the authorities to go on saturday, and would refund our money, but he offered to take us on a private tour the next day instead, which was great!

Highlight of the business trip to Gdansk - We went on a company tour for two hours through the beautiful canals of Gdansk. We were two people in each kayak and we were given life vests and overall felt very safe. We got proper instructions before going into the water. The guide was knowledgeable and good at keeping the group together, while still allowing different kayaks to at different paces. This was definitely the highlight of our trip.

Great group tour - We went on a group tour of 16 people and the tour guides were amazing. Very knowledgeable about Gdansk's history and showed us many historical infrastructures. We were shown how to kayak and steer in a very clean manner, as about half of us have no experience kayaking. The pacing of the tour was also good as well, with breaks between each location. Highly recommend this. Might be a good idea to bring sunscreen if you get sunburned easily.

So much fun! - The Gdańsk Islands kayaking was absolutely one of the highlights of our 10 days in Poland. Simon (sp) was friendly, patient and personable, making everyone feel comfortable. The kayaking was pretty easy on a day without wind and the view of Gdańsk from the water is unparalleled. Highly recommend!

Blisters and great cranes - Paddle through the Gdańsk canals, wave at locals and get blisters on your thumbs. A great time! Amazing guide with nice knowledge of the city from the perspective of the canals. Bring clothes that can get wet and enjoy!

Fantastic way to see the city! - We have just returned from a trip to Gdansk and before our trip researched activity ideas and the Kayak tour came up, I'm very glad we decided to book. The tour was brilliant, we travelled in double kayaks which once you got the hang of steering made it comfortable and a great idea for couples! Simon our tour guide was super friendly and knew his facts about the town, he made you feel at ease and was skilled on the water and provided all equipment, even a water bottle for each person! Added bonus, Simon took photographs for the group and emailed them across so you don't have to worry about risking your phone or camera getting wet in the boat! Would highly recommend.
