Wonderful private drive to and tour of Marlboro Castle! - Driver was waiting for me in the lobby of my hotel with my name on a sign. He took me to his vehicle and transported me while talking about sites we were passing along he way. I asked to be taken to some very photogenic spots where I could take photos of the entire castle and he accommodated me without hesitation. Once we arrived at the ticket counter my private guide, an English teacher, guided me for 2.5 hours through the castle explaining the history of the castle to date. She did a flawless job and was easy to understand making it a very enjoyable tour. The driver met us promptly at the designated spot and we returned to Gdansk via a different route while he again spoke about the significance of the sites we were passing along the way. From start to finish the driver and guide were professional and provided a very enjoyable drive and tour. I highly recommend.

13th century Castle and home to the Teutonic Order. - This is a great day trip from Gdansk to tour this 13th century home to the Teutonic Order. The sheer scale of Malbork Castle is jaw-dropping, we spent 4 hours on a private guided tour from our guide, Johanna, who had been doing this for 25 years. We’re also told the self-guided audio tour is very good. No downside for us as we visited at the end of August, but we have been told it can be over-crowded during peak season. About 45 min car drive from old Gdansk. Definitely bring water and snacks on warm days.

A truly wonderful experience - Both our Driver Mike, and our Castle Guide were excellent. We felt like Mike had become a new friend of ours. His Minibus/van was in pristine condition, and his knowledge of Gdansk and surrounding areas was excellent. Which he happily shared with us.

Marvelous Malbork - Wonderful experience. The driver was right on time and had all sorts of knowledge about Malbork and Gdansk generally. Once at the castle we met the guide, who was simply superb. Energetic, knowledgeable, and super friendly. I would highly recommend this tour.

A MUST SEE! - This castle is truly amazing. Could've spent all day here exploring. Never knew it existed but so happy that I was able to see it. The parts that were re-produced (after the bombing in WWII) fit in so perfectly with the rest. Totally awesome! Went on the tour from my cruise ship.

Deeply enriching experience - Seldom I get to meet someone who is soulfully connected to their community, knows its history, understands its culture, has insights into its present conditions and actively cares for its harmonious and beneficial future. This is the kind of person I experience the operator of this tour to be, and this in itself was an inspiring experience in itself - deserving the 5 star review. As for the castle - it is amazing! The enormity of it, as well as the preservation state is impressive. Even though not built by the Poles, it is a significant element of the complex Polish culture, giving particular insight into the nature of relation with their western neighbours, the Germans. On the first glance, it is a symbol of pride, of defeating a seemingly superior yet oppressive force and a landmark of self-confidence and hope - much needed by the Polish people. But looking even deeper I hope it could become an inspiration for a new era of the Polish-German relationship - where these two nations could combine their complimentary qualities, letting go of the past grievances - taking German focus and Polish spirit to create something beauty of which will stand the test of time even more than the Malbork Castle. As you can see, I did find aunexpected value in the experience and likewise invite those of you reading it not only to enjoy this tour, but to always look beyond the obvious :)

Simply stunning - So much to see; you really could spend a whole day here. I never even knew this place existed let alone it's the 'biggest castle in the world'. Took the train from Gdansk, about a 40 minute ride and the castle is 10 minute walk from the station. Entry was 47 Zly (approx. £10). Unbelievable value in my opinion. There is so much to see both inside and outside; there is a huge emphasis on the Amber trade through the ages. We did the tour without a guide, but next time I think I'd take the guided option to really appreciate its history. Had a snack in the restaurant (downstairs near the entrance; lovely setting.) Fantastic to see so many rooms veering off from other rooms; it really is a maze and quite awe inspiring.. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear; there's an awful lot of walking to be done!
