• Main City - The historic center of Old Gdańsk is a must-see, featuring stunning architecture of tenement houses, charming old streets with porches, the Main Town Hall, Neptune’s Fountain, Dluga Street, Dlugi Targ, the Golden House, Golden Gate, the old harbor waterfront Long Embankment, Granaries Island, the Żuraw Old Crane, Mariacka Street, St. Mary’s Church, Piwna Street, the Arsenal, the Prison Tower with Hangmen’s House, and Wyzynna Gate. We’ll explore the vast interior and monuments of St. Mary’s Church, and for those up for a climb, we’ll ascend to the viewpoint atop its tower.
• Westerplatte - This is the site of the first battle of World War II, where on September 1, 1939, Polish soldiers were attacked by German forces, marking the start of the war. We’ll also visit the lighthouse, which housed a German heavy machine gun position.
• Europejskie Centrum Solidarności - This center boasts remarkable architecture and is dedicated to Poland’s modern history, particularly the struggle for freedom and democracy against the communist regime. We’ll tour the building, its interior, the viewpoint on the top, and the Monument of Fallen Shipyard Workers.
