Best experience in Genova by far! - Alberto was the best host, historian, chef, and teacher. There were a total of 6 of us including a great family from Munich that we met. Alberto made the experience fun for everyone and his humor was very enjoyable. The process was very well laid out and everyone was participating. The location was amazing as it was on the rooftop (5 stories up) in a very traditional/historical building. It was Easter Day, so we got a special sweet dessert the Italians make for Easter Sunday. We are still talking about how the whole experience was fun and making some new friends along the way made it that much better. We highly recommend this experience if you’re even thinking about it. Bravo to Alberto and his helper for treating us like family.

Hot on Hot off Genoa - Great way to are the city. They could so a better Jon with the audio tour. Better technology and maintenance on devices. Once we found seats where audio was stable, tour became more information .

Nice. - We decided to do this because being on a excursion we did not want to run. Ticket taken at the terminal. We had done both tours without getting off and we enjoyed especially the bus completely panoramic. We paid 25€ per person and 10€ for our 9 year old child.

Genoa Hop on Hop off - We got off a cruise ship and the bus company had not put on enough buses and there were large crowds waiting to get on. Once we finally got on the bus itself was great.

Old buses and nothing to see - The hop on hop off buses have two routes you can take. We took both and didn't really se anything worth while on either route. The buses are old and on several of them, the headphone jacks did not work. We've been on a lot of hop on hop off buses in different places and these are the worst ones we've ever been on.

Not worth it - Waited for a really long time for the bus, buying priority doesn’t give you any advantage. Cheaper using uber and take little pippo train for old town.

Save your money - geno is very walkable - really should have looked at the reviews. I had completely forgotten to review this service but given the experience I felt I had to do so . We had a one day stop off in genoa on a cruise- they are actively selling these tickets at the Cruis terminal. We walked to the stop directly from the terminal a walk of 6-7 minutes and just saw a bus about to pull off. We did manage to run and knock on the door but the driver refused to open it. that was ok we decided to wait - we waited 45 minutes and then decided we just had to walk the city and we would get a bus back or pick one up as we travelled around the city. We tried to catch another bus later in the Pazza del Ferrari - the stop had temporarily moved so we followed the signage and again landed just as a bus was pulling off. The app said next was 58 minutes away - we had to be back at the cruise ship within 2 hours so we decided to take our time and explore a different route back on foot. Seeing as we never actually used the tickets I applied for a refund and got the customary response that the bus locations are listed on the app - it was not the most obvious from the app how far out the buses were to be honest and there was definately a lack of buses in terms of frequency of service so my recommendation to anyone thinking of using this to avoid - I would imagine the experience is a roll of the dice depending on time of day, traffic, number of operating buses etc. In essence we paid 47 euro for a service we never used as no buses were ever available at any stop when we required one.

Wait, wait, wait. Buses are not on schedule. - Terrible experience. Buses are supposed to run every 20 minutes. We waited an hour at the proper Historical Route stop. No bus. Hopped on a Coastline bus tour to transfer to a Historical bus. When we tried to board the Historical bus, they took a 30 minute break. The operator of the bus told us it was impossible that we had waited an hour. We are not liars. So, now we will have waited 2 hours (NOT 20 minutes) to start our tour.

Avoid hop on hop off in Genoa - We recommend doing a small group or private tour versus the hop on hop off bus. We have done hop on hop off buses and all the major cities and they have been fine but this one was the exception. No one on the bus really spoke any type of English. In addition, the app did not work, it crashes on you each time you use it when you go to adjust the screen or zoom in on a particular area. They are only running one bus on each of the lines and there is a 3260 minute wait for another bus pick up which is too long.
