Scrummy Genoese specialities - Excellent tour of part of the old city. Then delicious seafood, morsels with pesto and salsa di noci, plain focaccia, focaccia con formaggio (really scrummy) and polpettone, followed by delicious semi freddo. All washed down with red and white wine. Each 'course' was taken at different venues so we got to meet lots of artisanale/specialist sellers! Great intro to Ligurian/Genoese specialities! 😁

Great food and tour - The food and tour was wonderful. We learned about the history of the city, its culture and food. Don’t eat a big lunch before this tour. You want to save room for all the delicious food and good wine at the end. Lorenzo was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was like a friend taking you on a tour. Highly recommend

Ligurian food culture in short - Lorenzo was a friendly and helpfull guide. The foods were yummy and rich. Also, the wines served in full amount. He showed us some places in Genoa and gave satisfactory information about the Ligurian food culture and Genoa.

A Taste of Genova - Lorenzo was a wonderful guide. Knowledgeable on Genoa history. Walked us past the Church of San Lorenzo and the Palazzo San Georgio. We then sampled fish, pesto, focaccia, panera genovese, and wine at a number of area shops. Just the right amount of walking and eating.

An excellent way to experience Genoa - We often do a walking tour when in a new city as a good way to orientate ourselves, and what better way than by combining food and history. This was a thoroughly enjoyable tour, excellent local food, drink and sights. Our guide, Lorenzo, was very generous with his time (and spoke excellent English). Thank you again

Food, wine, and history – Genoa has it all! - What better way to explore a city than through its food? Our food tour with wine tasting with Slow Travel in Genoa was the perfect blend of history, culture, and, of course, mouth-watering Italian cuisine! Led by our amazing local guide Lorenzo, we embarked on a 2-hour gastronomic journey that took us deep into the heart of this maritime gem. We kicked off the tour with pesce fritto, a delicious street food staple of freshly fried fish that gave us a taste of Genoa’s coastal roots. From there, we sampled the iconic focaccia that the city is famous for – soft, fluffy, and bursting with flavour. And it didn’t stop there: we indulged in rich ice cream and finished off with a perfectly brewed Italian coffee ☕️. The journey wasn’t just about food, though. As we wandered through Genoa’s charming city centre, we visited some truly historic sites, including the majestic Chiesa di San Lorenzo with its striking Romanesque architecture, and the birthplace of the great explorer Christopher Columbus. It was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate! Of course, no Italian food tour would be complete without wine. We enjoyed two perfectly paired local wines that enhanced every bite, adding a touch of elegance to our experience. Massive thanks to Lorenzo for his incredible knowledge and hospitality, making this tour not just a meal but a deep dive into the soul of Genoa. If you’re ever in town, don’t miss the chance to savour the city’s true flavours.

Genoa Food and wine tour - We only had half a day to spend in Genoa before flying back to the states the next day. I found this tour by looking online for anything available, and it just happened to fit our schedule. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour guide showed us around to many sites, so you learn about and see parts of Genoa too. We were with 6 other people from different countries which was nice. The food choices were quite local. There were tastings of several local dishes, including the famous Genoa focaccia and pesto among others. A surprise was a gelato alternative called Panera which is a creamier type of gelato born in Genoa. We finished with wine tasting. Overall great value for the price.

A very nice introduction to Genova and its food specialities - We got a good overview of Genoa and the city's history. We were shown around central parts of the old town of Genoa. We got to taste local specialities, which was fun and not as natural for tourists to choose. We also got to taste a local white wine and a local red wine. The wine tasting was the least interesting part of the arrangement - both because we were not prioritized by the restaurant and because we have tasted far better wines from Liguria elsewhere

Perfect gastronomic stops, missing historical info - All very good, well planned gastronomic stops, much appreciated and above all very abundant! I would have preferred to receive more historical and cultural information about the city or the places we passed through. Recommendation to give a clearer meeting point with specifics on the Guide (e.g. Use a colored hat or umbrella to get recognized) because it was difficult to find. Recommendation the experience!!
