Food and Traditions - After not receiving an answer to my questions from the tour operator, the tour guide Claudia got in touch and a new experience in Italy was afoot. We saw some unique shops (“historic bottega”) in Genova that have been around for many years (from around 70 to 200 years) either run by different generations of the same family or shops that have been selling the same type of merchandise. They were small but the love of those who work there was quite visible. We tried different types of Focaccia one better than the other. At the Oriental Market Claudia explained the different produce giving examples of how and with what they could be served. It was a memorable experience on what the Genovese eat and why. Claudia also took me around to see a few of the city’s monuments while pointing out good restaurants to visit. In sum, it was a memorable experience in this beautiful city.

Very Nice and Informative Street Tour in Genoa - Cesarina and Roberto were very engaging and are full of information about Genoa. Google Translate helped were my Italian and their English failed. The food stops were great and I asked Cesarina to recommend a nice lunch place. She knew the owners and we were treated very well. I would recommend this tour.

Misleading tour description - Claudia was fab, the best you can expect- knowledgeable, invested in her job, flexible and funny! We had a great afternoon together. However the description of the event including the photos are misleading. I've been on these tours before in other cities in Italy, for less money and have had a wider range of food and wine! I can see from the reviews that it wasn't just me who got confused by the tour description. The tour organizers should really be more honest in the way they sell a product!

Mixed - My husband and I took the Small group street food tour yesterday. Our tour guide was lovely, very well spoken and kept our slow pace. We stopped at a large market, a place for flatbread which she purchased and a tiny coffee shop. Then we questioned the meal at a house as was in the tour description that we received even explaining where her home was. She explained that this tour did not have cooking but only the 3 market visits and we’re told that it was not part of the tour. She invited us to her home anyway to see how they lived because she felt so badly about our misinformation. Of course we said no, wouldn’t think of putting her and her family in that position. While the tour was very nice, without the last part we felt that the several hundred dollars we paid was too much for this excursion. We signed on to try a real Italian lunch prepared for us by a chef. It was very disappointing.
