Great house. Great lunch - Interesting building with an interesting history. The preservation efforts have been excellent. Excellent guide who told interesting stories about the house and its occupants. We followed up with a cocktail at the bar and lunch at the Indigo restaurant both of which were excellent. Highly recommended.

Beautiful - Visiting this old Chinese mansion was a wonderful experience. The restoration work is impressive, and the mansion is breathtakingly beautiful. It's fascinating to see the connection between the mansion's early years, its original owner, and modern culture, especially how the house is used in contemporary films.

A worthwhile addition to your Penang visit! - It’s always amazing to visit places of such beauty and history, and the Blue Mansion is no exception. The amazingly restored architecture and the comedy injected by the tour guide make for a great experience. Add this to your list when visiting Penang.

Selva made our visit great! - The mansion is beautifu. Kind of reminds me of the riads in Morocco. Loved the colours and the textures. Loved the working staff, they helped us take great pictures. Especially Selva, he was extremely kind and creative. When in Georgetown it's worth the visit and make sure to look for Selva!

Lovely mansion and history but awful guided tour. - I booked a ticket online in advance for the 15:30 guided tour in English. The tour starts punctually so arrive on time. Check the website for tour times or you can purchase at the door. Stunning mansion. The architecture. Elaborate. Very organised. The tour is advertised as 45 minutes but allow an hour or slightly longer. My negatives were the guide and the group size was way too big. I couldn't understand the guide well unless I stood close to her. Some of the information she gave wasn't really great. She made a comment about wearing black and white meaning 'sadness' in Chinese culture and she didn't understand why people would wear this combination. There were a few people in our group wearing black and white and I think it was very offensive of her to say that. All she needed to do was state the facts. She was also constantly trying to promote and sell things like staying at the hotel, having a drink or food and then suprisingly leading us to the gift shop to end the tour. I started to get bored towards the end and so did others. I think they need to reduce the group size of the tour and limit it to 45 minutes.

Not terrible, expensive for what it is - Only 3 guided tours per day, the rest of the time visit for yourself by downloading an app We came at 10:45 for the scheduled visit at 11:00. We were told that the Guided Tour was full and that it was not possible to do the guided tour. There are only 6 rooms to visit, 3 of which have only explanatory panels. I do not recommend this paid tour, without much use, some hotels are as luxurious as the patio of this house.

Not much to see and overcrowded tour - The guide is knowledgeable and dedicated to her job (though quite difficult to understand if you are not used to an Asian accent) but we don’t really recommand this tour as it is very crowded (35 people, most of whom eventually give up trying to follow the tour and just wander by themselves ) and there isn’t much to see (only the courtyard and 2 rooms that do not have furniture anymore) . The Peranakan museum has much more to offer in our opinion .

Too bad. - Looking forward this blue mansion tour but such a disappointment. There is no proper staff to help on the booking for the tour. Only guard keep telling us to scan QR code. Without proper instructions or help. Not keen with this place anymore. How to make place for pple to tour while u still want to do hotel biz. Never been to a hotel and ask to leave the front yard just because we admire the structure. 😒 Lost the meaning of museum.
