Highlights
  • 156 Rte de Strasbourg - Maison ZEYSSOLFF is one of the few wineries in Alsace still to vinify in century-old oak “foudres” of over 10,000L. Its greatest curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF cask, made in 1897 for the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition. Maison ZEYSSOLFF offers a complete guided tour of the winery, from cellar to bottle. A commented tasting of the estate’s wines, accompanied by a slice of kougelhopf (Alsatian brioche), will thrill your taste buds…

Following the organic conversion of our estate in 2020, we have renovated our cellar to offer our future visitors a new activity. We have a scenographic area in the cellar with a 180° immersive movie projected onto barrels - the only one of its kind in France. This movie is not a remake of anything we’ve seen to date about working in the vineyard…but a film about our rather rich history, and our working philosophy. The whole thing is projected in the winery, on hundred-year-old oak barrels at 180° (mapping on certain sequences) with sound work, allowing the audience to be totally immersed in our story.

Maison ZEYSSOLFF is among the rare wineries in Alsace that still use century-old oak foudres, each with a capacity of 10,000L, for wine vinification. The most notable is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, crafted in 1897 for the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900), and it remains in use today.

The immersive experience, featuring projections on the barrels and sound effects, is unique in France.

Children are welcome on the tour, which is suitable for all ages.

A beautiful break around wine - We no longer count the number of cellars visited during our escapades and it is one of the most educational visits we have been able to make: film around the vine, projection on the wrath of the family history, exchanges with our Guide, break time on the terrace, all punctuated by the discovery of the wines of the estate (well worked). Thank you!

Unique approach to a cellar tour - A unique approach to a cellar tour, it includes a tasting, professionally made video produced for the specific family winery and a Q&A with the owner/operator. We got to meet and socialize with the other people in our tour group who hailed from 4 different countries. Everyone had a great time. Nice to see a winery going the extra mile (kilometre?) to make a tasting/tour a little more unique.

Great Winery Tasting & Tour - What a great family owned winery. Our wine "guide" was great, she had a good sense of humor too. The wines were great, the cellar tour was amazing. Not only do you get to sample wonderful wines, the video of the history of the winery was very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our the entire experience, and would definitely go back !!!

Watch videos at a wine cellar? NO Thanks! - No idea why it's highly rated.....came here as part of a Viking Cruise optional excursion. Was given 5 wines to taste and shown 2 fifteen minute videos - seats were these hard chairs that people were squirming in....I got so impatient I went across the street to the gingerbread museum during the video. I could have watched the videos on youtube. I have never been to a wine tasting presentation like this before.
