- Mark Nesbitt’s Ghosts of Gettysburg Candlelight Walking Tours - Today’s tales are presented by Mark Nesbitt, the pioneer of ghost walking tours in Gettysburg. Drawing from his own chilling experiences of over thirty years in Gettysburg and the ghost stories shared by those who lived them, these narratives blend local history with the enigma of the spirit world.
- Seminary Ridge - The first day’s combat of the three-day battle concluded, having swept across the farm fields to the west, north, and east of the Pennsylvania Crossroads town.
- Battle of Gettysburg First Shot Marker - Welcome to a historic Gettysburg and the Ghosts of Gettysburg battlefield tour. This audio guide will lead you on an extraordinary journey to the sites on the Gettysburg battlefield where mysterious and inexplicable events have taken place.
The battlefield and roads are accessible from thirty minutes before sunrise to thirty minutes after sunset.
This is not a nighttime activity. Ensure the tour is completed by sunset. Some sections of the tour traverse the battlefield, which closes at sunset.
This 10+ mile-long tour covers the essentials of Gettysburg Ghost in 2-3 hours.
- Schmucker Hall - Schmucker Hall, or the old dorm, witnessed its share of horrors during and after the battle, being converted into one of the first hospitals on July 1st.
- Devil’s Den - The origin of the name Devil’s Den is uncertain. However, it was never more fitting than on the second deadly day of July in 1863.
- Little Round Top - Just as logic is sometimes deceived by the unexplainable sights and sounds of the past. Is it possible that whoever or whatever creates these images could be deceived by our presence?
- The George Weikert Farm - Her roommate frequently traveled for her job with the National Park Service, leaving her alone in the house watching television one night. The TV had been on for a while when she suddenly became aware of another noise in the house besides the TV.
- State of Pennsylvania Monument - The Woman in White has occasionally been seen here. Although she’s more often spotted at Spangler’s Spring, far to the right of our current location, you can learn about encounters with her by pausing and clicking on the Learn More button below.
- Eisenhower National Historic Site - The fields to the right of your vehicle are part of the Eisenhower farm. President Dwight David Eisenhower, supreme commander of allied forces during the European invasion in World War II, chose a battlefield to retire upon in 1961 after his presidency.
- Codori Farm - The Codori house in Gettysburg stood nearly in the center of some of the worst carnage in American history. In about 40 minutes of marching over the lush fields and fighting across the now-famous stone wall.
- Pickett’s Charge - West Confederate Avenue runs along Seminary Ridge, the main Confederate battle line on July 2nd and 3rd. The cannons and monuments mark the positions of Confederate units long gone from Gettysburg and from this earth. All around you as you drive is now a peaceful field where men once died slowly.
