Great bike ride! - What a great way to see Getxo. Our guide was great and kept us moving through our 12 mile bike ride. We had snacks and drinks at the end. Very worthwhile way to spend the morning.

A must for the active day tripper - Pintxos in an authentic, locals watering hole with loads of character and charm. And cycling through town and out on the open spaces and along the promotonries overlooking the ocean gave one fantastic grounding and sense of place, with several water taps along the way. A perfect way to do a self guided day-trip from a cruise ship; it’s a 30 minutes’ walk from the port facility.

Great trip combining sightseeing, exercise, food and drink. - Could not have chosen a better trip to see Bilbao's Beauty. Our 12 mile trip took us thru very exclusive neighborhoods as well as the original fishing village. We took one of the many funicular. Had a great stop for drink and Pintxos.

Review - Miguel was a wonderful host. Very easy ride around Getxo, mostly downhill. Nice talks on the history of the region and the Basque culture.

Engaging, informative, fun bike ride in Getxo - Miguel was extremely knowledgeable. He speaks 4 languages and has lived in various countries. His English was very easy to understand. We thoroughly enjoyed our bicycle tour of his city. The ride was about 12 miles. When we had a steep climb, he led us to a City elevator that took us and our bikes up about 5 levels. We finished our ride with a pub stop that included complimentary food and drink.

Great View and Pintxos - What a great bike ride. Must do!!! At times my legs were burning from the uphill climbs on the bike lol, but it was all worth it because we got to see amazing views of the sea. My husband and I found the tour enjoyable and a great overview of Getxo, Spain. Half way through the tour we got to stop at a bar, and had local white wine and Pintxos. We got the tortilla espanola and a sandwich and split it yummmmm. Thanks again for a wonderful day.

Great time biking in Bilbao - Really enjoyed touring the seaside of Bilbao. It is so scenic. Miguel's personality and commentary were delightful. I learned much about this amazing Basque city and its culture. The Vizcaya suspension bridge was a terrific sight.

Ok tour but a bit far out from Bilbao to get to. - A decent tour. You get to see some really nice places. It’s a bit awkward to get to though if you stay in Bilbao. The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable. He was easy to talk to and answered all questions.

Didn’t show up….. - Didn’t show up….. Didn’t not respond to our messages and didn’t pick up his phone. Not worth the gamble tbh.

No one showed up! - I'm sure it would have been lovely IF anyone had shown up. Instead I got there early (as requested) and waited 40 minutes at the address provided. No one from Free Spirit would answer the phone. Eventually they did message me back to tell me the tour had been cancelled because there were not enough other people booked. No one had reached out to me to tell me this. THEN it turned out they'd accidentally booked me into the free walking tour of Bilbao (their paperwork even showed I'd paid for it!), which was also cancelled. THEN they changed tactics and claimed that the real reason it was cancelled was due to weather (it was raining) and that cycling would be too dangerous. Ok... But still no one had reached out to advise in this and, as you'll see in other reviews, there are no significant uphill climbs on this tour). THEN they offered me a bike rental for a self-guided tour after having JUST told me that it was too dangerous for cycling. On top of it all, the meeting place was at a restaurant that has been out of business for many months. Overall their response was "meh, these things happen sometimes". To be fair to them, they do say they are issuing a refund but I'm extremely disappointed to have spent so much wasted time (about 30 minutes each way from Casco Viejo plus 40 minutes in the rain) on something that they could have resolved by proactively communicating about.
