An insightful experience - I was very pleased with the Traditional Naming Ceremony! Everyone was very welcoming and lively. Hassan did a great job of explaining landmarks/activities as the trip progressed and made sure to provide a smooth ride to and from our destination.

Truly amazing - This was an amazing experience, especially for an African American like myself. The people are welcoming and the naming ceremony is very spiritual and joyous. The tour guide and driver were courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to others

A Once in a Lifetime Experience - At the closing of the year, myself, with a group of 9 others, made the decision to travel to Accra, Ghana for the first time to connect with our roots during the Year of Return. We booked only 3 experiences with Tichama Tours, but they went above and beyond to ensure that our full 9-day experience was unforgettable. Hassan and his team made sure that we had reliable transportation throughout, to make it to all of the things on our "to-see" list. The excursions we selected with Tichama, were: the Cultural Village Tour with Naming Ceremony, the Day trip to Kakum National Park, Elmina & Cape Coast Castles, and the Accra City Tour. In route to each of these, Hassan was able to provide us with such a wealth of knowledge concerning the country, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Beyond our daytime tours, the team worked overtime to make sure that we knew all of the best restaurants to visit and even provided us some nightlife options, for those of us that had a little extra energy at the end of the day. I am so happy to have stumbled across Tichama Tours. Accommodating a group of 10 is not always an easy feat, but they did so, and seamlessly. I will definitely be contacting them again when we plan our visit back to Accra.

Beautiful and humbling - This was such a spectacular experience! We danced laughed and were even given African names. My daughter loved it and so did I!

Special experience getting an African name - Spent Thanksgiving Day 2019 with “relatives” who may have been victims of slavery or who may have sold my ancestors into slavery. Lots of elders and other villagers gathered to welcome me. We danced together, played drums together, I received a new African name, and observed pottery being made. Did you know that African pottery makers can make perfectly round pots with only their hands? Great experience. Highly recommended. Just remember to bring a gift of money to celebrate the occasion of your new name.
