Very educational - Great experience. Simon our guide spoke english very well. He is such a nice person and explained everything well. It was really nice to see a peaceful side of Bali after all the hub bub of Seminyak and Kuta. The ride was essentially very easy but due to the path conditions, I would recommend it to people with good balance. There were quite a few holes and uneven spots so you really need to pay attention to the path. It was a pleasant slow pace so that gave you the chance to be prepared to look for the dips. This trip has really helped our teen children see how another part of the world lives. They also got to see where the rice they eat comes from. This in itself is a valuable addition to their life knowledge. The cooking class at the end was fun. The garden surrounding it was gorgeous and peaceful. The food was superb. I learnt how to use a few more spices that I hadn't tried before, but I am now keen to try again. I would recommend this trip. Oh, this trip supports more than 8 families, so I really appreciate that the cost is being spread to more than just one person.

We were picked up by our guide and... -
We were picked up by our guide and driver right on time from the hotel. We had an interesting drive through the countryside to get there. First stop was coffee tasting, which was free, although I did feel a bit obliged to buy something and so bought some chocolate. Then it was onto the bikes. When we arrived I was surprised to see that we were the only ones, and that's how it stayed. We had our own private guide for the biking and he also acted as a translator for the cooking lesson.

It was great to be out in the country and see how the local people live. The guide was friendly, spoke good english and was informative.

Definitely recommend.

Rode mostly downhill only a couple uphills, through villages and past rice fields. Our guide explained some things along the way. Great way to get out and see the countryside, away from traffic. Stopped to talk to farmers and villagers, and to take photos, of course! After the ride, had an amazing cooking class in a lovely outdoor setting, with our Wiyasa and 2 lovely women. Learned about all the ingredients and helped grate turmeric, grind macadamia nuts, stir rice, etc. Ate our yummy meal after the cooking. I had mentioned that it was my daughter's birthday on the way there, and they surprised us with a beautiful birthday platter and singing. So sweet! Wonderful way to spend time interacting with locals -- we learned so much and had a fantastic time!

Worst tour I had in Bali - I am extremely disappointed on the whole cycling tour and I must say this is the worst tour that I had in Bali. I have previously sent over a clear and detail direction to my hotel including contact info. However, the cycling tour guide was more than 1 hr late for the pickup and claimed how he was not given any direction and continued to justify how it was not his fault. It was a struggle to locate him to begin with, not to mention to put up to his on-going excuses for his lateness during the drive. The trip itinerary clearly stated that there will be a '3-hr bike ride' but we had only 1 hr. The tour guide claimed that we were riding too fast, but this is just ridiculous. The itinerary never mentioned about the ride is dependent on the speed that the customer is riding at, it guarantees that there is 3 hrs of riding. If someone ride faster, then you just simply cover more distance till it is 3 hrs. More importantly, I doubt we can ride 3x faster than any normal person. The itinerary also stated clearly that there is international safety standard helmet provided, but we were given nothing. We felt extremely unsafe for the duration of the tour. Upon arrival for the cooking class, we were asked to wait 1 hr again for nothing before the cooking class started. During the cooking class, we were threaten by a police officer where if we were told that if we didn't let him take photos of us, we won't be 'protected' during our stay in Bali. I am not sure the relationship of this officer with your company but we felt extremely uncomfortable given that the officer stayed behind to monitor our activity as if we are criminal for the duration of the cooking class. The overall experience is horrible, unpleasant and completely not aligned to what have been described on your tour itinerary. Not only did we not have fun, we felt our safety were threatened during this tour and it was a complete waste of our time spent during our short trip in Bail.
