Enjoy a walking tour of Gibraltar’s Upper Rock with an experienced English-speaking local guide.
We will guide you through the Upper Rock nature reserve, walking up the Rock and showcasing many of Gibraltar’s attractions along the way. You’ll see military and historical sites, have the opportunity to walk up the famous Med Steps, and even meet some of our world-renowned monkeys.
Please note that the tour duration is listed as approximately 3 hours and 3 minutes. This is an estimate, as walking speeds vary. If you need the tour to conclude at a specific time, please inform us.

The meeting point will be Library Ramp, which is across from the front entrance to the Eliott Hotel in the City centre. I will be at the bottom of Library Ramp, standing under the Library Ramp Street Sign, and be wearing a Gibraltar Official Licenced Guide Badge.

Great hike around the Upper Rock! - What a splendid tour with Stephen! He’s very knowledgeable and generous in his explanation of the site. He adjusts the hike to the group so you get a custom made experience. Highly recommended! Thanks Stephen!!

Gibraltar walking tour was a highlight of our trip! - Stephen ended up giving us a private walking tour as the other party underestimated the amount of steps. Stephen adjusted the tour to our liking and we saw everything and had a blast. The Med Steps have crazy nice views, the monkeys on the hill were amazing. The stop in the cave was a nice break and was beautiful. He shared so much information - do not hesitate to book this tour he is amazing!

Highlight of our Gibraltar trip! - I booked the guided walk as part of my birthday celebrations in Gibraltar and was really looking forward to it - and it did not disappoint!! Stephen is an extremely knowledgeable and personable guide and we saw places you just wouldn’t get to on the mainstream tourist trips. His enthusiasm for the place and his attention to detail were first class and I would absolutely recommend it. Bear in mind that it can be pretty hot and there’s a significant amount of uphill walking but Stephen will adjust to the pace of the group.

Great tour of the upper rock. - Great tour with lots of information on the history of Gibraltar provided by Stephen.
Loads of cracking views across the bay to Spain and Africa which are great for photographs and also for proposing to your partner which I did at the highest point on the tour.

Fantastic walking tour with stunning views - Stephen took our private group of 10 for a beautiful walk onto Gibraltar rock showing us the less know paths and views. He was always kind, patient and enthusiastic and never hurried us even though we took quite
a lot of time. We left with a great sense of Gibraltar and all our questions were perfectly answered. He is a wonderful guide and I highly recommend booking a tour with him if you are curious enough to see more than just Gibralar town.

Fantastic Rock Tour ⛰️ - What an amazing experience spending the day exploring and learning about the history of this incredible landmark. Stephen is an excellent and knowledgeable guide and tailored the tour to match our fitness level. We saw everything, including lots of Barbary apes, and even discovered that some of the trails we walked were used in the opening of a Bond movie! Highly recommend!

Excellent tour! - This tour was so amazing. Stephen was very friendly, great in communication, and very accommodating as to what areas we wanted to explore to make sure we were able to do so. He was also very knowledgeable of the history of the area as well as the current state of affairs and made sure that we moved at a pace that worked for all of us. The views were spectacular! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone coming to the area, my daughter even said this was her favorite part of our whole trip out to the area as well as Spain!

Memorable walk. - We had a nice and memorable day on 11.March in Gibraltar. The weather was perfect, and the guide we chose to have a really nice trip, Stephen Hill, made the day absolutely fantastic. The walk is called Upper Rock Walking Tour.
Our goal was to reach thr Rock while learning a bit of the history of Gibraltar. And Stephan Hill delivered.
After hiking up the west side, Stephan tok us down a bit and then headed up the Mediterrainien Steps with a fantastic view; can absolutely be recommended!
If you ever goes to Gibraltar, we recommend to use four hours with Stephen Hill. You will not regret it.

Knowledgeable and friendly guide - My partner and I went on a day in December when it was just ourselves on the tour, so Stephen was able to accommodate everything we wanted to see around the Rock. He was very well informed and we enjoyed learning about the local history (and seeing some monkeys!) before getting back to our cruise ship in good time.
