Giza Tour
Pyramids of Giza - Begin your day by exploring the Giza Necropolis, one of Egypt’s most captivating pharaonic sites, where you can see the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinus. This area is home to numerous pyramids and tombs from the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom, including the pyramid of King Cheops, the only remaining wonder of the ancient world. The tour also includes a visit to the Princesses and Queens Pyramids. Next, head to the Valley Temple of King Chefren, used for the purification and mummification of the king’s body. Continue to the Great Sphinx, with its lion’s body and human head, believed by the ancient Egyptians to guard the necropolis. Spend some time at the Giza Plateau to visit the Papyrus Museum for shopping and take stunning photos with the Giza Plateau as your backdrop.
Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Travel to Saqqara, a significant part of Memphis’s vast necropolis. Here, you will visit the Complex of King Djoser from the third dynasty (around 2630 BC), the first complete stone construction in ancient Egyptian history, featuring the oldest stone structure, the step pyramid, designed by the engineer Imhotep. Then, explore other types of pharaonic pyramids, such as the pyramid of King Teti from the sixth dynasty, which contains pyramid texts to guide the king in the afterlife. Visit the burial site of ancient noble Egyptians from the Old and New Kingdoms and see the inscriptions in Kagemni’s tomb depicting daily life in ancient Egypt.
The Sphinx of Memphis - Witness the first capital of united Egypt, founded by King Narmer in 3100 BC, at Memphis. Visit the Memphis Museum to see the colossal statue of Ramses II and the second-largest sphinx, that of Queen Hatshepsut. Finally, our team will drive you back to your hotel in Cairo.
Cairo Tour
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization - Head to Fustat city to visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, one of Egypt’s newest museums. The main hall showcases the achievements of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present. The highlight is the Royal Mummies Hall, displaying 22 royal mummies from various tombs, including those of Queen Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis III, and Ramses II, along with some of their funerary furniture, giving you a sense of walking through the Valley of the Kings. There is also a temporary exhibition on the history of four Egyptian crafts (pottery, textile, wood, and jewelry) through different eras.
Hanging Church (El Muallaqa, Sitt Mariam, St Mary) - Continue to Old Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, Egypt’s oldest church, which served as the seat of the Coptic Pope in the early 11th century AD. The church is called “hanging” because it was built on a tower of the Babylon Fortress from the Roman period in the 2nd century AD. Then, explore the Ibraham Ben-Ezra Synagogue, Cairo’s most famous Jewish landmark, dating back to the 9th century AD, which once housed an old copy of the Old Testament.
Mosque of Muhammad Ali - Proceed to the Citadel of Saladin, the most famous fortress in Islamic Cairo, built by Salah-El-Din Al-Ayoubi in the 12th century to protect Cairo from Crusader attacks. The citadel was the seat of power for 700 years. At its highest point stands the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, designed in Turkish style by architect Yousif Boushnaq from Istanbul. The mosque is renowned for its beautiful wall decorations, domes, and minarets.
Alexandria Tour
Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - Begin your Alexandria tour by visiting the Catacombs from the early Roman period, the largest Roman cemetery with three levels carved into the rock, showcasing a blend of Pharaonic and Greco-Roman art in the tomb decorations. Here, you will see corpses buried in sarcophagi, on shelves, and in urns of ashes after cremation.
Kayetbai - Visit the Qaitbey Fortress, built 700 years ago by King Qaitbay to defend the city from Crusader attacks. Inside the citadel, you can see the ruins of the ancient Lighthouse, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
Bibliotheca Alexandrina - Conclude your day by exploring the modern Library of Alexandria, a cultural complex and the world’s largest library with 8 million books. Enjoy taking amazing photos here. Finally, our team will drive you back to your hotel in Cairo.
Pompey’s Pillar - Next, visit Pompey’s Pillar, erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century. Originally dedicated to the god Serapis, your tour guide will explain the origin of its name.
