• Pyramids of Giza - Begin your journey from the requested location with a GEM Explore Egyptologist, traveling across Cairo to the Great Pyramids of Giza. Here, you’ll marvel at the pyramids of King Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The tour continues with a visit to the Valley Temple of Khafre, where the royal body of Khafre was received. This temple was constructed for the mummification process of King Khafre. Finally, you’ll get an up-close view of the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the Pyramids, featuring a lion’s body and the head of King Khafre. • Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid is the only surviving wonder of the ancient seven wonders! It was the tallest building on earth for over 3800 years. The complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman; diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. With your expert Egyptologist, you’ll explore the entire area.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - The second tallest pyramid in the complex is dedicated to King Chefren or Khafre. The entire complex is well-preserved, and with your Egyptologist, you’ll explore the valley temple and the causeway of King Khafre. (Please note that entering the pyramids requires a special ticket, and the guide will be happy to assist).
• Menkaure Pyramid - The smallest pyramid on the Giza plateau stands about 61 meters high. Menkaure’s pyramid is unique due to the remaining granite outer layer on its lower part, with the granite quarried from Aswan, over 1000 kilometers away from Giza!
• Panoramic view of the Pyramids - Next, visit a panoramic viewpoint of the six pyramids and the city of Giza. You’ll have 30 minutes to take photos and enjoy the scenery.
• Great Sphinx - With the same entry ticket to the pyramids area, you’ll get a close-up view of the Great Sphinx, the guardian of the Pyramids, with a lion’s body and the head of King Khafre.
