Pyramids of Giza - Built by the ancient Egyptians over 5,000 years ago, the Pyramids of Giza are a marvel of engineering. Despite lacking cranes or modern tools, they constructed these massive structures with precise angles, approximately 51 degrees, reaching a height of 149 meters. The Great Pyramid is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, captivating visitors with its architectural brilliance.
The Sphinx of Memphis - The Sphinx, a limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a human, serves as the guardian of the Giza Plateau. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture, measuring about 73.5 meters in length, including 15 meters for its front paws, and 19.5 meters in width. Its height reaches approximately 20 meters to the top of the head. Believed to have been built during the reign of King Khafre (2558 BC - 2532 BC), the Sphinx stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian craftsmanship.
Memphis and Sakkara - According to Herodotus, Memphis was founded by King Menes, who united Upper and Lower Egypt around 3200 BC. Situated on the western bank of the Nile, Memphis was Egypt’s first capital, serving as the royal city for King Menes and the following three dynasties. The city was adorned with palaces and temples. Sakkara, named after the falcon-headed god Seker, is renowned for its ancient structures, including the step pyramid built by King Djoser, the founder of the Third Dynasty. Located 19 kilometers south of Giza, Sakkara is the only place where you can see the oldest free-standing stone structures still standing on their original site. The excavated area extends about four miles in length and two miles in width along the Sahara Desert.
