Embark on a thrilling half-day quad biking adventure at the Giza Pyramids. Explore the ancient tombs of Egyptian kings and capture stunning photos during this exciting tour.
- Pyramids of Giza - Your guide will pick you up from your Cairo or Giza hotel/airport. You’ll then visit the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. These three famous pyramids and their elaborate burial complexes were constructed during a bustling period from approximately 2550 to 2490 B.C. They were built by Pharaohs Khufu (the tallest), Khafre (in the background), and Menkaure (in the front).
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Cheops, also known as Khufu, is located on the Giza plateau. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still exists today and is frequently visited by travelers. It is the first pyramid you see if you approach from El-Ahram Street.
Completed around 2560 BC, the pyramid originally stood over 145 meters tall (now reduced to 138 meters due to the removal of external elements). Taller than any structure built before the industrial age, it is a marvel of mathematics and engineering, constructed using advanced geometric knowledge and techniques.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - The Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest in Egypt, standing about 10 meters shorter than the Great Pyramid. It is unique because the remains of its original cladding are still visible at the top.
Khafre built his pyramid next to his father’s at Giza. Its complex is better preserved than others, partly due to an innovative construction method using massive limestone blocks encased in thin facing slabs. The entire complex served as a temple for the resurrected god-pharaoh after his funeral.
- Menkaure Pyramid - The third major pyramid at Giza belongs to Menkaure. It is the smallest of the three, standing at 65 meters (213 feet) tall, but its complex has preserved some of the most stunning sculptures in Egyptian history.
- Great Sphinx - You will also visit the Sphinx and the temple where bodies were mummified. The Sphinx is a mythological creature with a lion’s body and a human head, an important symbol in Egyptian and Greek art and legend. You can take photos in various positions here.
- Khan Al-Khalili - You will visit the Khan El-Khalili market in Cairo, a district rich in history and cultural significance. This historic bazaar has been a center of trade and commerce for centuries, showcasing the enduring traditions of Egyptian craftsmanship and merchant culture. Visiting Khan El-Khalili is like stepping back in time, allowing you to immerse yourself in its bustling marketplace and explore its intricate alleyways filled with stalls offering a wide array of goods, from intricate jewelry to colorful textiles and aromatic spices.
- Nile River - Finally, you will enjoy a felucca ride with an Egyptologist guide on the Nile River. Relax in the pleasant breezes as you drift past Cairo’s skyscrapers, waterfront promenades, and bridges. As you sail, your guide will provide informative commentary, allowing you to soak in the peace and calm, far from the city’s hustle and noise.
