Great day in Cairo - Mimo was awesome! Punctual and accommodating to our groups needs. He took us to an essential oil tasting and papyrus art store too. He was knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. Lunch was very yummy!

Great tour guide! - Fatma was a fantastic guide, very knowledge and clearly passionate about the history and sites. I learned a lot, plus she took a lot of photos. The only regret is that I wish there wasn’t such an emphasis on taking photos - I would have liked to live in the moment more but I think most tourists just like taking a bunch of photos so my tour guide insisted on taking those because she thought that’s what I wanted out of the experience. It’s probably my fault because I should have been more clear that I wanted to take less photos and just look at the pyramids and be present in the moment. So my advice is to be firm with your tour guides that you don’t want to pose for photos the whole time and assert yourself if need be. They’re sweet and just want you to have a good time, so just be clear what would make it a good time for you.

4 hour tour Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx - Our tour guide, Manar Atwa, made our trip with all the factual information she imparted as well as theories about the construction of the pyramids and the Sphinx. She was sensitive to our feelings about the camel ride as well as the visit to the Papyrus production Center. She is a passionate Egyptian who is a great ambassador. Her command of English made her easy to understand and allowed her to cover so much information.

Forever Changed - I have never in my life filled out any review for anything, but I would be remiss to not do so for my friend Bassem. His love for his country and all people shines through with every word he says, and I am forever changed for having met him. We are already planning our next trip to other cities (we were just able to do Giza this time) and I cannot wait.

Awesome Bassem - I wish it was possible to do 6/5 stars! Bassen loves his country and has a degree in Egyptology, so his excitement is contagious and his knowledge is extensive. Our group loved every minute of this tour and we are considering coming back for a longer tour in the future just to spend more time with him! He is professional, hilarious, passionate, and kind. He told us his name means “smiley guy” and it really fits. Don’t come to Egypt unless you book with him!

Canadian Couple's introduction to Egypt - We met our guide Ashraf through some associates who had employed his services before on tours and he came highly recommended. We communicated through text and explained that we wanted to see the pyramids and get a true account of the history, he was quick to respond and there was no problem communicating as we only speak English.
Our guide made all the arrangements which included a driver, the entrance fee, and lunch in Cairo. The day started off at 8:30am where Ashraf came to our apartment and picked us up, the van was clean and the driver and our guide were dressed professionally, Ashraf had even greeted us with bottles of water to ensure we were properly hydrated for our day.
The tour started from the moment we entered the van and started making our way to Giza. He was incredibly knowledgable and had a wealth of information to share about the city and various sites as we navigated through Cairo. Once we arrived at the Pyramids, we gained entry through a gate which was separate from the mass crowds, this made it extremely painless. The Pyramids themselves were spectacular, we were able to get an entire and accurate history lesson of each structure while also allowing us plenty of time to explore and experience them up close and personal. Ashraf had also provided us with some tips with regards to where we could find some AUTHENTIC Egyptian souvenirs so we wouldn't be duped into purchasing something from elsewhere. Our van and driver was also able to enter the Pyramid of Giza grounds so we weren't required to walk very far, he moved us from the different pyramids with ease. There were times we felt like Royalty as we were the only individuals around, and it seemed like we had access to places others didn't. Ashraf was extremely talented at knowing exactly where the best photo opportunities were and how to access them. We finished off the tour with Camel rides, but this was not included. Ashraf however did facilitate this excursion and ensured we were treated well.
Upon leaving the Pyramids, we went to a Papyrus Gallery where our guide linked us to a woman who provided us with a thorough description and demonstration of the Papyrus and its history. Once again, this explanation and display of an ancient art form was spectacular to experience. We truly felt like we were being given the royal treatment.
Lastly, we adjourned to lunch at a genuine and authentic Egyptian restaurant. We had a spectacular meal which was all arranged and coordinated through Ashraf and the establishment. There was so much food and all of it was fresh and such a delight.
Our day ended around 2:00pm back at our residence. It wasn't until the very end that we took care of the expenses. We found that the price was extremely reasonable and both my wife and I agree that we will use his service again as well as recommend Ashraf to every one else we know.
We're totally thankful that we met Ashraf and excited to undertake more adventures with his assistance. In fact we already have used his services for a whole other excursion, but that's another review.

Got the job done, but nothing special - Overall the tour was what we were looking for--transportation to the sites and help us navigate through the pushy sellers. For the good points: We had private van for our small group of 3 and private tour guide to take us from point to point. We were able to relax and just enjoy seeing the amazing pyramids and majestic views. Our guide was friendly and engaging. Our driver was very safe and the vehicle was very comfortable.
As for the downsides: We were taken to the perfume and papyrus shops after asking NOT to go, and then being rushed through lunch. The lunch place wasn't that great. The food ok but the service was rushed and terrible. The waiter dropped bowls of food without a word and then picked it up without asking if we were done. Never offered water and seemed annoyed when we asked for a cup of tea after the meal! The photos our guide took were not good. The pictures were of the group actually blocking the panoramic view of the pyramids or Sphinx. We gave up and just took our own shots of each other instead. Was disappointed to not get a good shot of the entire group.
Finally, I am not sure we actually had a guide and driver from the more higher rated "Tree of Life Day Tour" company. My guess is that they outsourced our tour to someone else, as the van logo was a different name and the pre-approved request we arranged to drop off one of our party at a different hotel was not relayed to the tour guide and caused a lot of confusion. So, while it met the needs to get us out to the sites, it didn't meet the same high reviews others gave this company on trip advisor.
