• Pyramids of Giza - Begin with a pickup from your central Cairo or Giza hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. Meet your tour guide and set off to explore the city’s highlights, including the three Giza pyramids. Marvel at these enormous ancient burial tombs, constructed around 2,500 BC, and discover how and why they were built. Enjoy some free time to enter one of the pyramids if you wish, and explore its empty inner chambers independently, as your guide is not allowed to accompany you inside. Admire the colossal Sphinx, the mysterious statue of a human-headed lion that guards the pyramids. There is an optional stop for a camel ride, lunch, and visits to local bazaars.
• The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Enter Cairo’s Egyptian Museum, which houses approximately 120,000 remarkable ancient artifacts. Your guide will introduce you to some of the highlights, including the main attraction: the treasures of Tutankhamun. Be amazed by the boy king’s golden death mask, coffins, and funerary treasures, and learn about his brief and troubled reign. Then, enjoy some free time to explore the museum at your own pace. Proceed to the downtown market to browse, enjoy Egyptian tea, and try shisha if you are a smoker, before returning to the hotel.
