Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza for a full-day tour of the illustrious pyramids of Giza, Khufu, Sheffrin, and Mykerinos. After marveling at these iconic pyramids and taking ample photographs, your next stop will be at the Valley Temple, the spot where the body of King Shifrin, the man behind the second pyramid on the Giza plateau, was mummified by priests. Here, you’ll get the opportunity to admire the Sphinx statue up close - the mythical guardian with the body of a lion and the head of King Chevrin that stands next to the vast funerary complex. From there, you’ll head to Saqqara, situated 16.7 miles (27 km) southwest of Cairo, to observe the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, a significant milestone in pyramid development that evolved from a simple form to a more elaborate design. You’ll continue your tour to Memphis, an ancient Egyptian capital, where you’ll find monumental statues of Ramses II along with the significant Alabaster Sphinx, dating back to 3100 BC. Your tour will conclude with your return to your hotel.
