Amazing 1st Day in Egypt! - AMAZING!!! That would be the one word to sum up or first day in Egypt with our guide/ photographer Abdu! He was pleasant from the 1st WhatsApp message and was even more in person. Communication was top tier!
We arrived before our group to Cairo and decided to book a tour with Photography. What drew me in was the jumping horse photo, but the tour is much more than that one photo. Abdu started by picking us up from our hotel. The one we choose was super close to the Pyramids so the drive was very short. Upon entry Abdu explained everything about the tour and direction for the pyramids. It was hottttt, but Abdu had water for us at every stop to keep us hydrated! Our entry tickets were already included so we walked right in. We started by the largest pyramid and took pictures there and even with hundreds of people around Abdu managed to get just us! From there we rode to the other side where the smaller pyramids were. We took an exciting camel ride to the place where the horses were for the photos. All throughout Abdu was capturing pictures of this memorable tour. Sidenote: Bring small bills for tips for the camel guy and horse guy. Once finished with the horse photos we headed to the Sphinx. We booked a late tour so the Sphinx was closing soon, but Abdu got all our pictures and we got a good tour through the Sphinx.
We didn't read everything as we thought this was just a photography tour, but surprise surprise we stopped to grab some fresh mango juice (OMG! IT WAS SO GOOD!) before heading to the Papyrus Institute. We had a great presentation there and were able to score some beautiful pieces. We also wanted to look at some scarves and Abdu was able to take us by a shop to grab some. Last but not least we stopped to grab some shawarma. Yum! Yum! Yum! It was absolutely delicious, both beef and chicken.
This tour was a beautiful kickoff to our Egypt trip. I'm so happy we met Abdu and had this perfect 1st day! It didn't feel like a tour, it felt more like our Egyptian friend took us around for the day. Don't hesitate and book this tour today. You will not regret it!
