- Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Begin your journey with a pickup from your chosen location by your tour guide to explore the three ancient necropolises. The tour kicks off with a visit to the Saqqara necropolis, where you will see the Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s earliest colossal stone building. This structure is a cornerstone of Egyptian history, serving as a model for subsequent pyramids with enhancements.
- Step Pyramid of Djoser - The Step Pyramid of King Djoser, dating back to 2670 BC, is the oldest stone structure globally. It is part of a vast complex including the Colonnaded Entrance, Sed Festival complex, Enclosure wall, North and South Pavilions, Southern Tomb, and thousands of surrounding tombs. With your knowledgeable tour guide, you will learn more about King Djoser, his gifted architect Imhotep, and the latest discoveries in Saqqara. (Please note that entering the pyramid or the southern tomb requires a special ticket, and your guide will gladly assist.)
- Pyramids of Dahshour - After lunch, the tour proceeds to the Dahshur Pyramids (Red and Bent Pyramids), which marked a significant transition for Ancient Egyptians from step-sided to smooth-sided pyramids. Dahshur features several pyramids, with the Red and Bent Pyramids being the most renowned, among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, constructed between 2613–2589 BC. (Time spent at each site is flexible according to customer preferences.)
- Dahshur Bent & Red Pyramid - Also known as the North Pyramid, it is considered the first classic pyramid built in ancient Egyptian history. It is called “red” due to its reddish limestone quarried from the Tura Mountains in Cairo. Visitors can enter the pyramid for free!
- Bent Pyramid - A distinctive example of early pyramid development in Egypt, this was the second pyramid constructed by Sneferu. It is the only pyramid in Egypt that still retains its outer casing and remains in excellent condition. Visitors have the opportunity to enter this pyramid as it is now open inside. (Please refrain from entering if you are claustrophobic or have any health issues, as it is quite challenging and requires physical fitness.)
- Memphis and Sakkara - The tour continues with a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. This city features the colossal statue of Ramses II, the magnificent Alabaster Sphinx, and numerous ruins. Memphis was the power center of the Old Kingdom (2686 BC) of Ancient Egypt and the home of the pharaohs who built the pyramids.
- Mit Rahina Museum - A special museum dedicated to the famous statue of King Ramesses the Great from 1279 BC. This enormous limestone statue is in remarkable condition. Ramesses the Great ruled the Egyptian empire for approximately 67 years.
- The Sphinx of Memphis - The Sphinx of Memphis is a stone sphinx located near the remnants of Memphis, Egypt. Made from Egyptian Alabaster, it remains in excellent condition and may represent the renowned Queen Hatshepsut from 1479 BC. Afterward, you will begin your journey back to your hotel.
