THIS WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER! A MUST DO DEFINITELY!!! - THIS WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER! A MUST DO DEFINITELY!!!
Nader our guide was amazing. Such a nice person and a passionate guide. He promised us the best tour ever and he was right… the black and white desert are breathtaking and the spots he showed us were stunning! The two drivers were lovely people. We appreciate the best adventure of our stay in Cairo!
Awesome tour, unbelievable landscape views, great people, delicious food. Can’t wait to be back! Some advice for next travellers: bring snacks it’s a long journey, wear tennis shoes for easier exploring the places, bring swimming suit and a towel for the oasis experience and enjoy!

Great tour and tour guide - This tour was fantastic. Nader was an awesome tour guide who made sure everything was in order and that we enjoyed ourselves. He managed to include all the sites in one tour which was great for us as we were on a tight schedule. The food was also fantastic! I would book my other tours in Egypt with Nader also.

Egyptian highlight - We went for a day-trip to the White and to the Black Desert around Bahariyya and Farafra.
The landscapes are breathtaking, the desert driving is a kind of adventurous and I could point that this trip was one of our highlights during our vacation in Egypt, because it was something we didn't expect to witness and to experience. Once people visit Egypt, they probably expect to visit the Pyramids, museums and historical sites, or also go to the Red Sea. And then, the Black and White Desert shows off to be more than anything else if you like beautiful scenery.
Besides all that, afterwards we had a delicious food!
I truly recommend our guide Nader, with whom we had nice and funny talks. He was very kind and professional guide.

A waste of money and time - I had such high hopes for this tour. The operator contacting us via WhatsApp was really nice and responsive, I really wish I could leave a positive review. But this was simply not good.
We took a break 30 min after we left the hotel. When we came out of the WC, the driver was nowhere to be found. He then showed up, told us he wants to grab a coffee and then we go, and he disappeared for another 10 min to another rest stop for trucks (there was coffee at the rest stop we were). What was supposed to be a quick toilet break ended up being 20+ minutes of us standing next to the car waiting.
Btw, I lived in the Netherlands for years, and I could recognize the smell as soon as he entered the car with his "coffee". He didn't go for coffee, if you know what I mean.
The driver spent most of the drive calling, texting and liking posts on Instagram, while driving 120 km/h. He was not even subtle about it, I could see his full phone screen. And at the end, when we entered Cairo, he started watching tiktok videos with his phone connected to the car speakers at high volume. So now I know what Arabic tiktok sounds like, I guess that's something than came out of this tour!
We arrived at a beautiful camp, were offered a tea and then left in the 4x4 with a different driver. The safari was 90% driving on an asphalt road, 9% driving off road in the desert, and 1% actually getting out of the car to make some pictures and move a bit. We had 5 min at each site, and we were constantly rushed by the 4x4 driver. There was no "small mountain climbing" at the black desert, and not even an offer to sandboard at the white desert. If you are the type of person who likes taking pictures, tough luck, all you get is some shaky, smudgy pictures you take through the car window while racing from one spot to the other.
The driver mentioned sand boarding when we were at the valley of Agabat, but not asking us if we want to sandboard, but rather telling us "oh, you probably don't want to sandboard, because you need to climb up, go down, then go up again, it's tough". Then he showed us the hill we were supposed to sandboard on, which was ridiculously steep and there is no way we could climb that, you can see it in my pictures. I asked him if there is a less scary hill, pointed at one in the distance, but he said it wouldn't work on that hill. That is absolutely not true btw, I watched videos of sandboarding before this trip and none of them was at such a steep hill as the one we were taken to. I guess the guy didn't feel like waiting for us to do the activity we paid to do. How dare we even ask?
At the end we were taken to the "hot springs". That's on me, I should have Googled it before booking. But basically we are talking about a trough where water is pumped in it from an ugly looking building. It was not nearly as idyllic as "hot springs in the Sakkara desert" sounds like. So yeah, safe to say we did not in fact swim there.
Finally, we were taken back to the camp, where we were served some (admittedly delicious) hot lunch, enjoyed by us and about 20 local flies.
Overall, I don't recommend the 1 day tour to the desert. It is ridiculously expensive for what it has to offer. If you don't have time for a 2-3 day tour with overnight stay at the desert, then go do something else in Cairo instead, this tour is not worth it. The two or three day tour is probably nice though, at least the camp was beautiful and very serene, I imagine it's nice to stay overnight there.
