Mimo is an amazing guide - Mimo was an amazing guide. He was so knowledgeable and answered every question that I had. His experience in Egyptology is definely there. He was so full of information. I would definitely recommend him.

Coolest location! - Great morning with Mimo at the pyramids and Spinx with traditional Egyptian lunch. The restaurant which was overlooking the Spinx gave us the opportunity to try local dishes. Mimo was good to advise on things to avoid and try. Staff at the restaurant were welcoming. Lunch was included and we paid for beverages. Mimo was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. On his recommendation we also had a camel ride which despite our fears was a great experience and if you’re going to ride a camel this has to be the coolest location! Mimo was very helpful in taking and setting up great photo opportunities by himself and colleagues. The pyramids were incredibly moving and there was real impression on your senses and a connection absolutely worth a visit with a trusted guide Mimo ensured we had comfort breaks in clean environments and access to water it was an incredibly hot day and he safely guided us with the hop on hop off buses. We also were taken to see the Papyrus, the historical and current day use. Amazing demonstration of how the cut, soaked, pressed and dried and then used as paper. Opportunity to buy personalised art at reasonable prices.

VIP Name, Basic Delivery, Poor Tour Guide Mohammed and Ibrahim - As a traveller from the UK, I was drawn to the VIP label and expected a refined experience. However, it mostly delivered standard amenities without any elevated touches. The guide moved us quickly from one photo spot to the next, with little narrative or enthusiasm. The camel ride felt perfunctory more of a snap-and-go moment than a genuine desert experience. Most disappointing was the lunch. Described as authentic, the meal was bland at best plain chicken, white rice, and a forgettable salad. It was a missed opportunity to tie in Egypt’s flavorful culinary heritage. The pyramids themselves remain majestic, but the tour lacked finesse and depth.

Not Worth the Price Tag - I paid expecting something seamless and premium, but it was neither. The tour was fine at best, but no better than cheaper options I’ve done in the past. The guide was friendly but didn’t share much depth about the history, and the whole experience felt watered down. For the price, I expected much more.

A Trip of Contrasts: Wonder Outside, Disappointment Inside - Standing in front of the pyramids was life-changing. The sheer size, the history, the desert stretching endlessly it was breathtaking. But sadly, everything outside the monuments felt poorly managed. Our guide was rushed, almost mechanical in his delivery. He repeated facts without much passion, as though he had done it a hundred times and wanted the day to be over. The camel ride lasted less than 20 minutes and felt staged. Instead of wandering into the desert, it was just a loop within view of the crowds. Lunch was a bigger disappointment. I’m Egyptian myself, and I was embarrassed to see tourists being served such bland, tourist-trap food. Egypt is known for its rich flavors falafel, molokhia, grilled kofta but instead, we were given flavorless chicken and plain rice. This isn’t authentic Egypt. The monuments are unmissable, but the way this tour was handled took away from the magic.

An Amazing Site, Let Down by Poor Execution - The pyramids will never disappoint they are one of the world’s wonders for good reason. But the way this tour was executed made the day more frustrating than it needed to be. The first issue was communication. Our driver was late, and no updates were provided. Once we finally arrived, everything felt rushed. The guide seemed disengaged, delivering facts like a script. There was very little storytelling or context to bring the history alive. The camel ride, which I expected to be a journey into the desert, was simply a short loop designed for quick photos. Lunch was the breaking point: uninspired, flavorless, and completely at odds with the authentic label in the description. It felt like tourists were being served the cheapest option available rather than something that reflects Egypt’s food culture. The pyramids are extraordinary, but the company handling this tour left me underwhelmed.

Breathtaking Tour, Disappointing Cuisine - The day began with a breathtaking camel ride into the desert, the Great Pyramids forming a perfect backdrop. Our guide was engaging and passionate, helping us feel connected to everything we saw. The desert air was still, the moment felt timeless. But then, lunch arrived and it fizzled. The authentic label felt misleading when served bland, flavorless food that missed the heart of Egyptian cooking. We longed for hummus with depth, tangy salad, or koshari with spices and crunch something that echoed the rich culture. Instead, the bland meal lurched the high spirits into a flat moment. The tour was beautiful and well-paced otherwise. But food matters it’s part of the memory. Here, it didn’t match the promise.

Majestic Pyramids, Bland Lunch - Watching the pyramids grow closer on camelback was a moment we’ll never forget. The golden glow of sunrise, the soft padding of the camel’s steps it was poetic. Our guide was courteous and informative, weaving stories about ancient Egypt that added depth to the visuals. But lunch? That part was underwhelming. They advertised it as authentic Egyptian cuisine, yet what was served was a stark contrast: flat pita, lukewarm chicken, and uninspired rice. It felt generic, almost like reheated leftovers. In a tour designed to celebrate Egypt, the food should at least do the same. Still, the pyramids alone made the morning unforgettable. But the lunch dampened the overall experience, leaving me wishing for more coherence between the sights and flavors.

Camel Magic Overshadowed by Mediocre Lunch - From the moment I mounted the camel under the warm Egyptian sun, I felt enchanted the pyramids looming grandly behind, the sand shims beneath. The ride itself was serene, as if I will stepped back in time. Our guide was attentive, answering our excited questions along the way. But when it was time for lunch, the experience lost its spark. The meal promised “authentic Egyptian food,” yet what arrived was painfully overcooked chicken, plain rice, and practically no seasoning. I longed for vibrant falafel, fragrant koshari, or a spicy tagine flavors as bold as the land we were standing on. Instead, it felt like a missed opportunity to bring the culture to the table. Despite the underwhelming meal, the pyramids remained awe-inspiring, and I’ll always treasure the camel ride memory. However, the contrast between that magical start and the forgettable lunch left me disappointed.

Great Pyramids, Disappointing Lunch Experience - The beginning of the tour felt like something out of a dream. Riding camels across the golden sand with the pyramids in the background is the kind of memory you want to hold onto forever. The guide was friendly, the atmosphere exciting, and for a while, everything felt perfect. But then came the lunch, which was supposed to showcase authentic Egyptian cuisine. I was truly looking forward to trying local flavors, but what was served was plain roasted chicken with rice very basic, with no seasoning, herbs, or spices. It felt like something made to fill the stomach rather than an experience to savor. As someone who loves food and believes it’s one of the best ways to connect with a culture, this was a real disappointment. Egypt has such a rich culinary tradition dishes like falafel, koshari, or flavorful grilled meats could have turned this meal into something memorable. Food is part of the cultural journey, and I booked this tour expecting to taste Egypt, not just see it. While the camel ride and the pyramids were unforgettable, the dining aspect felt like a missed opportunity. If the organizers want to call it an ‘authentic’ experience, I sincerely hope they will reconsider the food options in the future. It would truly complete what could be an extraordinary day.
