Pyramids of Giza - The Giza Pyramid Complex, also called the Giza Necropolis, is the site on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt that includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. All were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The site also includes several cemeteries and the remains of a workers village.

The site is at the edges of the Western Desert, approximately 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) west of the Nile River in the city of Giza, and about 13 kilometres (8 mi) southwest of the city centre of Cairo.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Saqqara is a vast, ancient burial ground in Egypt, serving as the necropolis for the ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis.Saqqara contains numerous pyramids, including the world-famous Step pyramid of Djoser, sometimes referred to as the Step Tomb, and a number of mastaba tombs. Located some 30 km (19 mi) south of modern-day Cairo, Saqqara covers an area of around 7 by 1.5 km (4.35 by 0.93 mi).

Pyramids of Dahshour - The Dahshur pyramids were an extremely important learning experience for the Egyptians. It provided them with the knowledge and know-how to transition from step-sided pyramids to smooth-sided pyramids. Ultimately their breadth of experience would allow them to build the Great Pyramid of Giza; the last of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing to this date.

The first of the Dahshur pyramids was the Bent Pyramid (2613–2589 BC), built under the rule of King Sneferu. the second pyramid of Dahshur, the Red Pyramid. Once completed, the pyramid was considered to be a success, as it was a fully constructed, smooth sided, and a free standing pyramid rising to a height of 341 feet (104 meters), with an angle of 43 degrees

Memphis and Sakkara - then visit Memphis was the ancient capital of Inebu-hedj, the first nome of Lower Egypt that was known as mḥw (“north”). Its ruins are located near the modern town of Mit Rahina, 20 km (12 mi) south of Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt.

Touring Cairo first timers - We wanted to do a private tour so that we can maximize our time without the hassle of a big group. I’m glad we did it this way. I would recommend for a small group to do it this way.

It doesn’t get any better than this. - I’m not sure I have the words to express fully how fabulous our time with Habib and Soli from Emo Tours was. Day 1 was a half day visit to the Egyptian Museum followed by the full day experience to the Pyramids on day 2. Both tours exceeded our expectations immensely. Both Habib and Soli were true professionals throughout and the passion, knowledge and humour shown by Habib is a true credit to him and the company. You are number 1 on TA for a very good reason and I’m so glad to have had the good fortune of meeting you both. Thank you so much for a wonderful time and we very much hope our paths may cross again sometime in the future.

2nd day of private guided tour - Our tour guide, Sayed Mahmoud, was again an exceptional host. He was extremely knowledgable and his hospitality continued to make us feel at home. He introduced us to amazing food and gave us recommendations based on his experience. He went out of his way to accommodate to our needs, regardless of what it was. We are very fortunate to have such a guide to bring us around Cairo and I couldn't had asked for anything more. Exceptional.

Unforgettable 2 days with Essam in Cairo - My mother and I had an incredible experience with our wonderful guide, Essam, from Emo Tour. The 2 day-private-tour in Cairo was filled with a lot of exciting activities and stories, which exceeded our expectation. On Day1, we toured Giza, Sakkara, Dahshur, and Memphis. On Day 2, we visited the Egyptian museum, the Saladin’s Citadel, mosques, and old Cairo. We were so fortunate to have Essam as our guide, and our experience in Egypt wouldn’t have been the same without him. Essam was very knowledgeable of the Egyptian history and culture and was a great storyteller. He made our tour very interesting with both suspenses and surprises. He was also very thoughtful, kind, and considerate, and he made sure we were safe and comfortable throughout the days. Learning about the historical background from Essam enhanced our appreciation for what we were seeing. If we had visited the same archaeological sites without a quality guide like him, we would have missed many of the details and meanings behind each object. My mom and I also enjoyed learning some Egyptian expressions from him, and through close interactions with Essam, we learned some of the important culture and the way of life there. Since it was my mom’s lifelong dream to visit Egypt, I was so glad to see my mother enjoying the tour. It turned out to be an unforgettable trip of our lives!

BOOK IT NOW - I had the time of my life!! I’ve travelled the world and can’t think of a better tour and tour guide combination. Tonsi was super friendly and prompt when picking me up from the hotel. The driver was equally friendly, and I felt safe the entire time. Tonsi pulled out a notepad and provided me with a thorough history of the pyramids, which I enjoyed hearing, and visiting the pyramids was the best part. I didn’t bother to go into Pyramids of Giza simply because Tonsi told me it was just an empty room, but definitely go in the other pyramids where there are murals and things that the pyramid guides will show you using flashlights. Definitely do the camel ride and ATV adventures at Pyramids of Giza though!! Definitely worth it and very affordable. You definitely have to be a thrill seeker though, as you’re going over steep dunes at high speeds. The guide even did tricks and would take pictures and videos of you too. The camel ride was a great leisurely stroll. You can even get them running if you’re experienced! They’re exactly like horses only more calm. The guide will also take tons of photos and video for you. Tonsi even picked out the best guides from the people that were available, as he did not accompany me on the camel ride and ATV tour. The late lunch that I had at the restaurant overlooking the pyramids was a great way to end the day…but there was more. The dinner cruise had a large upper deck where I could relax enjoy the views along the riverbanks of the Nile. The bellydancing show was interesting, and they even threw in a few guest performers which were pretty entertaining. The buffet food was very good in my opinion (despite some bad reviews on here). Tonsi then dropped me off at my hotel. It was a full 12-hour day with no stopping back at the hotel in between. I tipped Tonsi extra because he was PHENOMENAL and very easy going. He kept telling me throughout the day that it was my time and that he was in no rush to do anything special. What an amazing trip. Thank you SO MUCH, Tonsi!!
