• Pyramids of Giza - Begin your tour at the Giza Pyramids, where you will see the Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. The Giza pyramid complex includes the Great Pyramid (also known as the Pyramid of Cheops or Khufu, built around 2580 – 2560 BC), the slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre (or Chephren) located a few hundred meters to the southwest, and the relatively smaller Pyramid of Menkaure (or Mykerinos) situated a few hundred meters further southwest.
• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, now buried under the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, but the site remains unexcavated. The valley temple was linked to a causeway, which was mostly destroyed during the village’s construction.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860.
• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple originally housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple.
• Great Sphinx - The Sphinx dates back to the reign of King Khafre. In the New Kingdom, Amenhotep II dedicated a new temple to Hauron-Haremakhet, which was later expanded by subsequent rulers.
