This journey provides the chance to uncover the enchantment of the town, touring the medieval market, the city’s showpiece the Argjiro Fortress, and one of the best-maintained residences, the Zekate House. We commence at the Cerciz Topulli plaza with our local escort, heading for the Old Market and pausing at the market’s bottleneck, where we encounter some of the town craftspeople, practicing traditional techniques, and continue towards the Fortress. A sprawling castle at 2.5 hectares filled with history, calamity and folklore which the local escort will detail. You’d find yourself 330 meters above sea level, appreciating the fantastic scene of Gjirokastra, the distinct tower residences, shrouded with grey stones, typically two or three stories high.
