Journey from Glasgow to Inverness
Luss Pier - The tour begins in the morning from Glasgow City Centre, heading north to the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Here, there will be a brief stop to enjoy the stunning scenery.
Glencoe - The journey continues north to the dramatic Glencoe, a location featured in James Bond’s Skyfall. A stop here allows for appreciation of the haunting landscape and learning about its intriguing history, including the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan. Don’t forget your camera for capturing one of Scotland’s most poignant sites before proceeding north to Fort William.
Fort William - The tour then travels north to the loch-side town of Fort William for a lunch break.
Commando Monument - After a scenic lunch by the loch, the tour heads to the Commando Memorial. Here, enjoy breathtaking views of Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain, while learning about the memorial’s significance.
Fort Augustus - The tour continues towards Loch Ness, stopping first at Fort Augustus, a charming town at the loch’s base offering stunning views. Keep an eye out for Nessie! There may also be a chance to photograph the impressive ruins of Urquhart Castle, time permitting.
Inverness - Arrival in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, marks the end of the day’s journey, with accommodation arranged for the night.
Journey from Inverness to Edinburgh
Culloden Battlefield - After a hearty Highland breakfast, the second day of touring begins. Departing Inverness, the first stop is Culloden Battlefield, where Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobites were defeated by the Duke of Cumberland.
Clava Cairns - The tour then proceeds to Clava Cairns, a collection of burial monuments offering insight into the life and rituals of Bronze Age Scots, over 4,000 years ago.
Cairngorms National Park - Following a photo stop at Carrbridge, the tour enters the magnificent Cairngorms National Park, the largest in the UK. Enjoy a relaxing lunch on the shores of Loch Morlich, and watch for local wildlife.
Ruthven Barracks - Next, the tour visits the historic military garrison of Ruthven Barracks, constructed by General Wade and the British Government after the Jacobite Rising of 1715.
Blair Athol Distillery - On the return to Edinburgh, there may be an opportunity to visit Blair Athol Distillery for a tour and tasting of award-winning Scotch whisky. If unavailable, time will be spent exploring the historic Victorian town of Pitlochry instead.
Forth Bridge - The final leg of the journey back to Edinburgh includes crossing the impressive Queensferry Crossing. This engineering marvel spans the Firth of Forth, joining the Forth Road Bridge and iconic Forth Rail Bridge, showcasing three centuries of Scottish engineering and innovation. The tour concludes upon arrival in Edinburgh.

- Collapsible wheelchairs with removable wheels can be accommodated providing the passenger is accompanied by someone who can assist them board and disembark.
