Highlights
  • Glasgow - Short walking tour of Glasgow
  • City Chambers - Described as one of the most magnificent municipal buildings in Europe, amidst a city rich in Victorian and Edwardian architecture. The Marble staircase is considered the largest in Europe. Frequently used as a film set, it has been featured in Indiana Jones “Dial of Destiny”, The Buccaneers, and World War Z.
  • Gallery of Modern Art - Guarded by Glasgow’s most famous statue “Conehead” the Duke of Wellington. Discover the history of the building, its various uses from a private house to a Stock Exchange, to a Library, and of course, the Duke of Wellington himself. Lonely Planet describes it as one of the world’s most unusual statues.
  • George Square - Home to over fourteen notable and unique statues representing Glasgow, Scottish, and British Empire history. While the statues may not appeal to everyone and feature only one woman, they offer a unique glimpse into Scottish and British history. The square includes statues of at least two of the world’s greatest writers, five renowned scientists, a mix of infamous characters, and some lesser-known but amusing figures.
  • Merchant City - The original hub of Glasgow’s power, where it all began. This area was the workhouse of the British Empire and home to the world’s largest port and shipyards. It produced the world’s first millionaires, who lived and traded here, founding some of the world’s greatest industries.
  • Glasgow Cathedral - Scotland’s only remaining medieval cathedral. The tour concludes near the entrance, giving you ample time to explore on your own.

Best walking tour in worst weather! - Marty was brilliant! He explained Scottish history in a succinct and entertaining way. He handled the abysmal weather with ease and kept our large group totally engaged, checking in on us regularly. We learnt so much about Glasgow and Scotland! Marty is also an actor and this added to our experience - thanks Marty! You absolutely rock!!!! 10 out of 10!!! 🏆

Best City Tour in Glasgow, Hands Down! - My mom and I did this as an extra to a larger tour we were on, and it became our favorite part of an entire week of Scottish highlights! First off, amazing idea to have historical tours led by actors! Second, the walking wasn't strenuous at all, and the information was phenomenal! I would (and have) recommended this to friends and strangers alike! To get a local's perspective of the good, the bad, and the ugly truth is this historical city is everything a tour needs! I would have taken the same exact tour the next day if we hadn't had to be in Loch Lomond.

Great storytelling - I loved the storytelling around the city. The history of the city was conversed as well as little details about street signage.
