We had a wonderful time... - We had a wonderful time on the heli-hike. The beautiful views were a combination of snow-capped mountains and bright blue lake. Glentanner is in a perfect location with views that you won't find anywhere else. The guide, Brian, gave us a wealth of information about the area including the history, plants and animals. He is very personable and takes care of all the logistics for you so you can just focus on enjoying the experience. We even got to see a NZ falcon flying low over our path, which was neat. We especially liked the small group/private nature of the activity and having the hiking path to ourselves, since many of the other hiking trails in the area draw large crowds.

Our guide Brian, was very knowledgeable and engaging, providing fascinating insights about the local area and the people who contribute to what it is . The helicopter ride offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the walk was so easy for the views it offered , you have to see it for yourself ! Highly recommended for nature and history enthusiasts alike! Thank me later ;)

Top 5 - This experience is one of the top 5 on our New Zealand trip. Great knowledge and great engagement with Brian, and a great experience with the helicopter and the approximately 7 kilometers walk down the mountain. Recommended.

If you are near Mt Cook, DO THIS TOUR - We booked this tour spontaneously. We slept with a camper at the holiday park and got the offer for the Heli Hike after our booking. We thought some time and decided to just do it. As I did the Hunter Valley Hike before, we wanted to try something different. In short: One of the best tours we did in NZ. In detail: We met in the morning 7am and got poles and recommendations for what to wear. After a brief safety briefing the we got into the Heli and we took off. Unfortunately I got a really bad spot and couldn’t see much. That was really a downer! My girlfriend sat in the front and it was fabulous there. The flight is a short one, but you see a lot of the mountains and the lake. After landing on the mountain we started the hike to really nice little lonely ponds. Best pictures you can do!!!! Then the hike down the mountain started. The normal guide wasn’t there and the owner of the whole property took over. The background stories were perfect It takes a while to get down and it was perfect! Do this tour!!!!!

Such an enjoyable and very unique experience - This is well worth doing if you have the opportunity. The helicopter ride was enjoyable with the pilot sharing information about features in the area on the way to the drop off. And the views. Simply gorgeous. Magnificent Mount Cook. The Tasman Glacier and Lake, although distant, are visible. Beautiful Lake Pukaki below, with it's magical colours. Clear water streams from melting snow mixing it with cloudy water sources from glaciers. The trek down is easy going and Brian our guide was a fantastic host and a fount of knowledge about flora, fauna, Glentanner Station and area history.

Great! - The guide was great. Lots of information and had nice conversations. The hike was not very challenging but very fun. The views were amazing. The only thing that could be better is that the helicopter ride can be a bit longer so that you van take a closer look at mt Cook.

Panoramic views coupled with informative commentary make this hike special - This was certainly the highlight of the time we spent in Aoraki/Mt. Cook National Park, starting off with a brief, but breathtaking helicopter flight over Lake Pukaki and the surrounding valley before being dropped on the moutain above Glentanner Station. What followed was a leisurely but never dull trek down the mountain with stunning views in every direction. What made the hike really special was the commentary provided by our wonderful guide Brian, which really brought everything about the area into vivid life, from ancient geology to flora and fauna and the history of human interaction with the region. There was even time for a cheeky beer and a delicious homemade muesli slice before we ended up back at Glentanner Station. A wonderful way to spend half a day in the national park!

An unforgettable experience - We booked the morning tour but the weather was not too good. Our guide Brian suggested us postpone it to the afternoon that the weather was so nice to have our hiking. Brian was very good and shared a lot of interesting information with us. We had a wonderful afternoon with him and the experience was so amazing. Really appreciated!!
