The towering mountains, extensive glaciers, and isolated snowfields of Mt Cook National Park served as an inspiration for Sir Edmund Hillary before his famous ascent of Mt Everest.
This flight offers a journey past the Hochstetter Icefall on Aoraki/Mt Cook and over the upper Tasman Glacier, culminating in an exhilarating alpine landing on the snow. The return flight takes you through the secluded Burnett Mountains, with the vast and dry Mackenzie Basin stretching out below.

Amazing 55 minute helicopter tour! - What a fabulous experience! Flying high over Mount Cook and Mount Tasman and then popping over the other side to see the Fox and Frank Josef glacier with distant views of the sea on the west wide of New Zealand.
We landed on the Tasman glacier for about ten minutes which was a fabulous experience to appreciate the majesty of the area.
And the views….oh my!
There were 6 of us in the helicopter with Mike who did a great job of trying to keep the copter smooth and level at the blustery top!
A fabulous experience that you should do if money allows. You won’t be disappointed!
Note: no handbags or bags allowed, no peak caps, no selfie sticks or droves. Travel light with your camera or phone!
There is a nice cafe at the check in station and loos too!
Arrive early as you might get a change (depending on your weight) to nab the front seat!

Mt Cook Helicopter flight/landing - The views while in flight and after landing were spectacular. It was a gorgeous, clear day so we had good views of all the major peaks and glaciers. Our pilot provided excellent commentary throughout the flight. Highly recommended!

Truly amazing once we went - Truly breathtaking views, and our pilot was great. We had to reschedule due to weather, which was fine, but the company communication wasn’t great.

Flying High - Loved the Mountains High scenic flight, with our pilot Gillie. Views were amazing, the snow/glacier landing was brilliant & just being up in the mountains was incredible. Highly recommend this to anyone

Just wonderful - We enjoyed a flight into Mount Cook region and had the luck that Mark was our pilot. He explained us the route and the mountains. A wonderful and passionate pilot! Thank you very much for such a wonderful tour! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience & great team - The whole set up is just great and they really look after the guest from start to finish. They make it easy to understand the individual options, have a laugh you overcome any potential tension (first time helicopter flight ...), the little cafe has nice food, drinks and ice cream with a sunny terrace to wait while watching other groups fly in and out. Of course there is the spectacular scenery from high above and the flight itself is amazing. What makes it memorable is the team and most noteworthy Liam who is such a gentle, knowledgeable and funny guy - thank you. All the best for you guys.

Breathtaking views. - The experience was breathtaking! The only problem we had was that we could not understand what the pilot was saying through our headsets. This really detracted from the experience but other than that it was awesome!

Amazing experience with one flaw - Once in a lifetime opportunity, amazing to learn about the glaciers.
Only 4 stars as we didn't do a snow landing as advertised. Our daughter was disappointed.

Great experience but poor customer service - The flight was amazing. The pilot was friendly and gave a great commentary. Amazing views. The service prior to the flight really needs to be better. We booked our flight at least three months in advance. We received confirmation emails periodically. One a week before and then one the day before confirming the flight. Later on the day prior to our flight we received an email saying that we had been rescheduled to a later flight with no explanation. We called into the office in Glentanner and were told that we were moved as there were not enough people for the flight at the time we requested and that the flight had never been confirmed for that time. The day of the flight we discovered that the flight time we originally requested did fly. Obviously we were just bumped for convenience to get more bums on seats. An honest discussion about the real reason for changing our flight time would be a far better approach than just moving us for your convenience without any consultation.
