Wonderful family experience, great staff! - We had a wonderful time and Travis, our guide, was amazing! He managed to call ahead and speak to a couple of pods of dolphins who obliged and showed up right on cue! (Kidding of course, but he joked about this and the dolphins actually came out to play - following the wake of our boats a few times!) The weather was perfect and the wildlife and scenery was amazing. The boats are fun and easy to operate. We made a little stop off at an island and were able to see some amazing seashells as well. I would absolutely recommend to families and friends looking to get out on the water and explore!

Fun boats and we found dolphins! - We arrived and were given a quick and fun orientation. Then our guide Eric had us out on the water. He gave great instruction and really let us open up the throttle on the boats. The boats were really fun to drive. VERY stable. We went through lots of areas searching for dolphins and were afraid we would strike out, but then finally he found a pod of 6. He encouraged us to make noise and the dolphins responded by “playing” all around us. We spent a good amount of time with them. Then finally we headed back to the dock. It was a great time. Definitely recommend this fun activity.

Great adventure - We have never experienced the dolphins up close, memorable experience. Boats were very easy to drive. Great adventure, thanks captain Eric. If you go, show up early, one couple showed up late, we all had to wait.

Family fun on the water! - Our family, including 12 and 13 year old kids, all had a great time on the boat tour. Our guide was extremely friendly and fun. To best describe it, it was like cruising around on go-carts on the water for a couple of hours. Lots of fun.

Overall the best CraigCat choice - Backwater operates out of a nice marina that is clean and safe with safe parking included in the price. They have nice bathrooms in the marina. The boats are parked on their own docks making access easy. Other CraigCat operations need to trailer and haul the boats in/out. The boats are clean and well maintained. Our guide, Tyler, was both personable and professional. Most of the CraigCat tours seem to stop for rest and shelling at the same island, In our case, we stayed a bit too long on the island rather than boating more. Some CraigCat boats have headsets so the guide can talk to you as you navigate. This would be a nice add to Backwater. However, we would use CraigCat again,.

Surprise Birthday Trip - 2nd time taking this excursion with Tyler as our guide and loved every minute. We surprised our friend for her 55th birthday. Driving the boats is fun and the scenery is peaceful and lovely. We saw dolphins from the desert island shore where we enjoyed excellent shelling and a nice swim.

Lots of fun! - Had a great time. We saw wild life on the shoreline and stopped to talk about it. Saw boats wrecks from the hurricane's and several pods of dolphins. Two of the three pods were more wary of us so we didn't get that close. The last one wanted to check us out and gave us a great photo op, as it swam under our boat and popped up out of the water. The boats were fun to drive and Eric provided the right amount of detail about everything we saw.
