This tour focuses on educating visitors about the progresses in the cotton industry and offering a genuine agricultural encounter. It is led by hospitable and informed locals, aiming to familiarize tourists with the cotton garment production. Currently, we are hosting thousands of tours yearly, demonstrating the green practices and daily operations of our ‘Alcheringa’ farm. The land, spanning 2,500 acres, was bought by Keith Coulton in 1973 and it used to be a functional sheep station. Nowadays, it yields irrigated cotton and other crops throughout the year. Habitual sightings include indigenous Australian bird and wild animal species such as waterfowl, pelicans, black swans, kangaroos, pigeons and possums in their natural settings. A 1km lateral irrigation system is the heart of the farm. The water supply method, which is gravity-fed through channels across the farm, consistently captures the visitors’ interest.
