Highlights
  • Port Elizabeth - We meet our guests at 8am and after a short briefing before we head out into PE’s beautiful Algoa Bay on our twin-engine catamaran. The whale season begins in June when we see humpback whales moving along the coast as they head up the East coast of Africa towards their breeding grounds. Humpback whales can be seen in Algoa Bay from June to early December. They make their return journey from October, females with calves in tow. Southern right whales can be seen close in shore from July to September.

Additional Information

Our cruise is unique in that we operate in the diverse Algoa Bay, rich in wildlife and history. Visiting St Croix island, home to half the worlds remaining endangered African Penguins. This tour is run just once a day instead of trying to run multiple cruises in one day. This ensures that our skippers and guides are fresh and alert for every cruise and makes it possible to spend more time and effort searching for wildlife in our Bay or observing something special that we come across provided that no one on board is in a rush to get back for a flight or bookings previously made. Our main focus is education, conservation and assisting in research which is made possible by the funds generated from our Marine Eco-Cruises out into Algoa Bay. Trees are planted to balance our carbon footprint for each cruise conducted. We use smaller boats so as to keep our cruises personal. Our skippers and Guides are very knowledge and are there to answer any questions and see to the needs of our Guests.

  • Disabled who can board with assistance from family and crew are welcome to join. There is no age restriction. Life jackets are available for all ages

Brilliant Ocean Safari with a fantastic ethical organisation - Worth every penny! Not only is the tour amazing, the guides are so knowledgeable and friendly, but the project actually helps preserve the area and these animals. I was so happy to know that some our money goes to save the wildlife, and the small team work so hard to achieve amazing things. Highly recommend!

Great tour that supports conservation work - Spent a great four hours on the Whale, Dolphin and St Croix tour. It was off season for migrating whales but the crew found plenty of the local Bride whales for us to enjoy. Captain Jack explained that the tours fund the conservation work done by the organisation, freeing them from any obligations to sponsors. What a great synergy! We spotted some penguins on the island. It has only been a few years since the island was designated a protected area and the penguin population is still struggling to grow. We were very fortunate to spend time watching a pod of over 400 dolphin relaxing near the shore- rare treat to be sure! Throughout the tour our guides provided insights into the animals and habitat. There were several guides who made sure guest in all parts of the boat had a chance to hear. The pace was relaxed and we still managed to cover the large area, including watching seals trying to hop up onto the rudder of an anchored ship.

Exceptional service 👌🏾 - Absolutely fantastic story behind the business. Lloyd and Purity took us out on what we thought would be a timed and tick box cruise but it turned out to be an adventure with wales and dolphins galore! These guys absolutely love what they do and have a wealth of knowledge. Absolutely enjoyed the cruise.

An excellent aquatic tour! - Getting to drive among the dolphin pod was amazing! Hopefully, the penguin population stabilizes, because they were cute! Tuba was so informative! Thanks so much!

Absolutely amazing whale watching tour. - Absolutely amazing whale watching company in South Africa! I saw many Bryde’s whales, 400+ Bottlenose dolphins, 2000+ common dolphins, Albino Bottlenose dolphin call “ Popcorn” , Sperm whales, Orcas and many Pelagic birds during my three boat trip with them !!! If you are cetacean or Pelagic bird nerds, I recommend to go out with this company.

Unique experience in Port Elizabeth - Just amazing!! Thousands of dolphins around the boat, whales, even though it wasn't whale season... we had a great time. The boat was great, can only take a maximum of 20 passengers, there is shade and enough seats. The crew is super nice, helpful and has a lot of knowledge. Part of the proceeds go towards species conservation and research to protect the oceans and the animals that live there :-) A must in Port Elizabeth!

Great cruise experience! - The trip was great! We saw more than 200 dolphins - it was mating season - as well as penguins and a humpback whale (even though it was not the right season for whales)! I took a ton of pictures. The crew members were excellent and highly knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
